Seems a tidy pressure fighter. Been brought up really well in such few fights. Definitely one to look out for, super fly isn't packed at the mo', he could really do some damage.
So...looks like Leo could be getting his title opportunity sooner than expected :happy Steve Kim's saying the plan is for Linares/DeMarco II on July 7th with Leo taking on Vusi Malinga for the vacant IBF bantam title in the co-feature :happy. And it'll be on Showtime :yep
Sweet.:happy That's a helluva fight if it comes off. Malinga's a very good fighter, a real offensive force once he gets into his rhythm(he gave an aging Sahaprom a real hiding in 4 rounds), albeit sort of porous defensively and annoyingly inactive. I don't think he even fought in 2011 did he? I'd imagine that's something Santa Cruz can take advantage of, added to that they'll probably be just about even in size, which is a scenario Malinga has come unstuck in before(Hasegawa is also just a better fight than him too being an alternative reason I suppose).:yep
Despite Linares ballsing things up against Sergio Thompson, Leo will still get his big opportunity! It's going to be on one of two cards (both on Showtime) - either the Tarver/Kayode card which is now on June 2nd and will be a quad(!)ruple header or on the Ortiz/Berto II undercard.
