Santa Cruz is such a chump now. Clearly, he sold his soul to Gaymon now. I had a bit of respect for him when he was coming up and fought Terrazas and Mijares. Now he's a joke thanks to Gaymon. After the Mijares fight, he should've fought Frampton, Rigondeaux, or Quigg. He's moving up without having fought either of the big three.
The last time HBO and Showtime held a joint card (Lewis-Tyson), it featured Pac vs a past-prime Jorge Julio (who was coming up in weight) and Joel Casamayor against Juan Arias (best known prior to that point for dropping an entertaining but not particularly close decision to Jesus Chavez). Had Cruz faced Bedak, then this card might have actually been an improvement. But with Settoul getting called to the chopping block, I think the 2002 line up still would have been a bit more compelling.
:nod Bedak was at least a step up in quality from Ruiz & Roman. (even if most Western fans would've been scratching their heads at the name)
This guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maVxYIUlGLo ...whom, if you ask Kid Cincinnati, ought to be rated about the same as this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDgwZyOV1AQ :nut
Better watch out IB Kid Cincinnati will start a thread trying to get you voted off the forum. And I'm sure you'll be hurt deeply by that won't you. Or maybe he'll block you like he did The Professor.
I'd love to conduct a single-blind trial in which surveyed parties are shown footage of both Settoul & Parodi (but given no information as to who is who, so edited and re-uploaded to exclude any identifying data) and polled to see which they believe is the better fighter, and who they would favor head to head. I'd be shocked if less than 95 in a hundred said Jérémy Parodi was clearly a cut above, or if even one picked Settoul to beat him.
Judging from what I've seen of both Parodi is clearly a cut above, but this is Kid Cincinnati we're talking about here, and according to him he's "one of the most respected posters on the site", so what the hell do you know IB. You're clearly not on his level:nut
His name is fun as hell to say, though, innit? Like I'm probably gonna wake up Mrs. Butt and Lil Butt shouting "Yo-ahn Boyyyy-oooo" over and over.
Difference was Frampton was facing a 35-1 fighter in his 16th professional bout. While Leo Santa Crud is facing a 20-3 fighter with a low knockout percentage who has lost to E-level competition! - IN HIS 30TH FIGHT - and on a PPV undercard... At least it's not for his world title. Then again even his world title fights have been mostly poor. His best win is a faded Mijares and even more shot Eric Morel. Lets face it, he's not been put in with anyone with speed/power, he's a poor world champion who has been avoiding GENUINE challenges for years.
Not to mention, Parodi is just clearly better than Settoul by every metric. Deeds on paper, eye test, certainly head to head you would have to pick JP... Just because they're both French doesn't mean they suck equally. Yes, all of this, yes. :amen Eh, must disagree on this. B-level wins: Jamoye, quasi-shot Carita Lopez, Payasito Hernandez, shot Morel, prime Zaleta, prime Guevara, quasi-shot Munoz (all stopped, the last four in world title bouts) B+/A- level wins: quasi-shot Mijares, quasi-shot Malinga, prime Seda (all UDs, all world title bouts), prime Terrazas (KO). That really isn't too shabby. What drags it down is Roman (being a huge step down from Mijares), followed by Ruiz, another step down, followed by now Settoul, basically a pencil-drop into a bottomless pit.
