I accept the loss, cause i can see it 7-5 Leo, but 9-3 blows me away especially with all those close rounds, that could have been decided by 1 clean punch imo.

as far as blows landed, that i would personally score, there wasnt much separation. what swayed me to give particular rds to leo, was his control of distance and pace.
mares came into the fight looking to back up leo (a come forward fighter), and hoping that it would neutralise leos effectiveness... it didnt.

Mares didn't land much after the 4th. People need to get a grip. The rounds in the last half of the fight weren't that close, though Mares put in a dogged effort. He just couldn't narrow the gap consistently in any of those rounds, and got tagged at Santa Cruz's doorstep repeatedly.

I think it just became this illusory thing after the first 3-4 rounds (where it seemed Mares was really going to steamroll his way to victory) where people just couldn't accept the very clear shift in momentum after Santa Cruz figured out how to stay a step ahead with his jab & drop-right serving as his lion-taming whip & chair.

The last ½ to ⅔ of the fight were competitive, but not particularly close. Everybody needs to learn the difference.

Also, why has everyone been discussing that fight all night and not Ceja vs. Ruiz?? Did we all forget having witnessed the epic comeback of the year (or longer)?

I think Lomachenko-LSC would be a good fight.

    Boxer vs. Swarmer.

Lomo's footspeed and footwork would be the difference. He would get in and out faster and at different angles than LSC would be able to cope with effectively.

9-3, 8-4 type win for the Ukrainian phenom.

Maybe LSC could steal some rounds with his workrate.

Possibly. Lomo takes rounds off. However he still wins by comfortable UD.
