    Round 1

Jabs exchanged. Ruiz catches a probing jab on the palm of his right hand and turns Ceja while flicking his own. HUGE RIGHT CROSS BY RUIZ! Ceja down. Opening seconds. Ceja is hurt badly. Ruiz is all over him. Massive hooks and looping rights on the jaw by Ruiz. Ceja is helpless on the ropes, shrimping up in a defensive posture, getting bombed. Ref in.

    KO1!!

Ruiz was winning the first fight pretty clearly before getting caught. Didn't think he'd make the same mistake this time around. Didn't think he'd come out quite like that, though.

Interesting parallels between these guys. Both have very impressive KO records but are known mostly for having fought on very close terms in narrow losses (SD & MD) to solid but unspectacular titlists in Kameda & McDonnell (the latter going on to have a rivalry of his own with Koki's superior brother Tomoki) and each is now by far the other man's best win, followed by Oscar Blanquet for Ceja and Pingo Miranda for Ruiz. :think

That was an even faster and more savage blitz than Jacobs vs. Quillin, IMO.

Ceja is being stretchered out. According to Grey, there is buzz in the ring about him twisting his ankle.
