Leo Santa Cruz will give Quigg/Frampton a pasting when the time comes!

No mind in your doubt, more like, Chicano! :tong

Certainly LSC poses a real threat to CF. But the opposite applies too.

What young prime career-superbantams has LSC beaten? Precisely.
    Short list innit?
LSC has been feasting on washed-up, blown-up flyweights. Even several of these guys have taken him the full 12. Would they hear the final bell against Carl?
LSC may beat CF - but there will be no "pasting" involved. :thumbsup

Frampton will beat him, who has Santa Cruz beat? He's not beat anyone as good as Kiko Martinez. Frampton by late ko in a war.

Leo wouldn't paste either of them. if he wins, it's a hard close fought win.

but i edge both over Leo. Leo hasn't yet fought a fresh guy with a pulse. and that's sad after having 7, yes 7, world title fights.

Im backing Frampton against Cruz, not so sure about Quigg because I think Santa Cruz is probably a bit tougher to grind out the win.

Ah, Len. What happened to you, man? I thought we were friends?

Look, I got to tell you, I admire the way you stand by your fighter. But you have to admit, your question is kind of pointless.

If you want to talk about Leo's record at super bantam, the only thing I can tell you is he's young, he's still learning, he just moved up to the weight, he's got the WBC belt, he's defended it three times, and he's ranked number 3 in the world.

Of his 3 title defenses at this weight, two of the guys he beat were ranked top 10. His first defense of the belt was against Terrazas, who was ranked no. 3 at the time. The other top ten was Mijares, who was ranked no. 8. None of these guys were old. None of these guys were shot. They had all been at super bantam longer than Leo.

But none of this really matters. What matters is how Carl is going to match up against Leo. From what I see, this is a bad matchup for Carl. Carl is giving up 2 inches in height and 7 inches in reach. So if Carl stays on the outside, he’s never going to touch Leo, and he’s going to get tagged continually by a very accurate, tricky puncher. And if Carl comes inside, he’s going have to deal with a level of inside fighter he’s never met before: a tougher, quicker, untiring fighter with a tremendous output of sharp, accurate punches to the head and body. Basically, a Mexican buzzsaw.

Carl is a fine boxer, and he looks decent against Euro-level competition. But he’s never fought anyone anywhere near Leo’s level, and I doubt he’s ready for it. So I'd say he has a puncher's chance, but that's all. He could certainly never outbox Leo. I assume Leo will stop him.

And please don't tell me Carl beat Kiko Martinez. Leo would definitely stop him, and you wouldn't see Leo backing up against him either.

Wow, another hate thread about a white fighter from El Chico.
what a surprise. Carl Framptons TKO of world class and proven
Kiko Martinez ecplises anything LSC has done. Victor Terrazas
was a mexican clubfighter who picked up a vacant strap and
was a C level fighter, and any real fan knows it. After Rigo,
the irishman is the best at 122. LSC is a moneymaker for Oscar
and nothing more. I think him and Quigg is 50/50

Good post - eventually, Kid. :thumbsup

Why the hell didnt you explain your position a bit better in the first place! You dont have to type in a whole book every time, but please no more "laughing faces"!
I saw red when you just stuck up a "laughing face" in response to half-a-dozen quality posts from guys who know what they are talking about. Guys who made the effort to explain their position. Do you understand how insulting that is? That was a cheap shot, Kid. That was rude. I expected better from you. Thats why I was angry.

Naturally you are mistaken, though....and you still havent answered my question:

My question is NOT "kind of pointless" as you claim - it is central to the whole argument, Kid. There is a reason boxing has always been divided into weightclasses. Size matters.

Secondly you are far too quick to dismiss Carls win over Kiko. Kiko has a track record of doing something Leo himself has failed to do - knocking out prime career superbantams, both before and after Carl ko'd him with one punch (another thing LSC has patently failed to do - ko people).

Thirdly you are clearly incorrect (with all due respect, Kid) when you say about LSCs opponents "None of these guys were old". Come on!
    Cristian Mijares - 32; Victor Terrazas - 31: Vusi Malinga - 104!!! :p etc etc
These wins were against small old blown -up bantams and flys. Fact.

I am under no illusions as to the threat LSC poses to Carl. But Carl poses a threat to him too! You cant seriously "assume Leo stops him" :patsch Come on, Kid. LSC couldnt even stop Mijares or Seda in his last 2 fights.

Come on back, Kid with a response - if you have one. All the best.
