Disagree. Boxing history is loaded with smaller skilled fighters knocking the stuffing out of bigger unskilled hwts. Boxing skill is boxing skill. Louis, Ali, Dempsey, Marciano and a host of others would decimate these two fighters. It was a joke of a fight between two joke fighters. I sat there aghast at what I was seeing. 30 years of multiple champions and 40 top 10 contenders gave the boxing world this abortion called a worlds hwt championship fight

But it's made much harder for Joe Louis sized guys now that the gloves are so big. the target is so much smaller. It reduces the frequency of cleaner punching that a smaller busier fighter depends upon against a much larger foe.

No way would Joe Louis be happy about wearing bigger gloves against a giant. No way!

Then there is the pace of the round that suits the bigger man too.

The distance of the fight suits the bigger man..

Is it any wonder heavyweights got bigger and bigger?

Nothing favoured the bigger man at heavyweight for many years. Now EVERYTHING favours him.

The problem here is people think that heavyweight boxing is always going to be like a Mike Tyson fight, as this was the best 2 guys in the heavyweight divsion going at it. It wasn't some random American fraud fighting a taxi driver.

How can you not have been impressed by Fury's head movement or foot movement? He made Wladamir look like an amateur when the was rying to find a gap or close down the distance.

If only people actually understood the sweet science. People on this board presume anyone with a high post count is a boxing genius. Maybe you should to stick to wrestling IB, as this post is the worst I have seen in a while, and is really lacking any sort of boxing knowledge....

Put it this way... Spinks or Braddock would never of beat the Tyson who beat Wlad.

I actually think Tyson Fury's performance although against an aging Wlad was almost on par with Michael Spinks beating a 36 year old Larry Holmes 30 years ago. Spinks was busier, more elusive and beat Holmes who had been champion for 7 years.

Mike Spinks was a very talented fighter. Gold medalist at the 76 Olympics and light hwt champion. Fury cannot fight his way out of a paper bag. Are those on here so uninformed concerning boxing technically that they can't see this?

Yet he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world? He just comfortably beat an ATG who was not far of beating Louis's record amount of world heavyweight title defenses. You might want to rephrase that statement....

I guess Wlad must have been an awful champion then and those who think he is an top 10 ATG are way off the mark.

What I do know seeing as you are talking about boxing technique is that Fury exhibited a game plan and enough boxing skill to pull it off. Sure he may turn out to be a short lived champion, we dont know yet, but his performance in dethroning a long time but aging champion has its parallels in Holmes vs Spinks

No need to rephrase anything. If you watch Fury and think he knows how to fight you know nothing of boxing. Worst display of boxing from both fighters than I have seen in a long time.

Again you cannot compare Wlads title defenses in a world of 5 hwt belts and 40 top ten challengers to Louis 25 defenses when there was only one champion and one top 10 of challengers. PLUS he never won the WBC title so none of his defenses are as undisputed champion.

Does not matter. Wilder would ko the inept fighter I saw in the ring Saturday night. Wlad was lucky he was in the ring with a powder puff.

Louis was undisputed champion for 12 years and all his defenses were as undisputed champion. Only a portion of Wlads defenses were with all the belts he now holds. Incomparable.

Larry Holmes was only ever the WBC and then IBF HW champion - never undisputed. Yet he is one of the top 5 HWs of all time.

Wilder would be eating Fury's jab all night. I think you may need to focus your energy towards another spot.

Anyone that thinks the raw and lunging Wilder, who can only up fighters outside of the top 50 would knock out Fury is pretty delusional.

I have a question for you Perry. Which of the two world heavyweight champions dominated their legendary foe more emphatically? Fury against Vlad or Wilder against city sanitation worker Molina? Bearing in mind Wilder was rocked against the legendary Molina....

Fury can't fight a lick. Do you know what good boxing is all about?

No hwt today has good skills and I am not implying Wilder is a good fighter. He is just better than the oaf And embarrassment I saw fight Saturday night. Put it this way.....I don't laugh and shake my head in disbelief when I watch Wilder. I was doing lots of that Saturday night watching both Wlad and Fury attempt to fight.
