Leon Spinks at his best, say the version that beat Ali vs 1974 George Foreman. How competitive does Leon make it?
Sounds plausible. How would you rate Michael's chances. I mean, he had the style to potentially cause an upset, but he'd have to be on his P's and Q's as he'd have zero margin of error.
L Spinks drew with LeDoux right before his 1st title fight, and was KO'd in 1 by Coetzee right after losing the title. Foreman destroys him in 1
I see it the same , Leon rushes at Foreman , George catches him coming in , spinks hit's the canvas .
It's not competitive. Leon would run right into George's right hands and uppercuts for a very early KO loss. It wouldn't matter how in-shape and focused Leon was. Leon Spinks knew but just one way to fight - full steam ahead bobbing and weaving. His great trainer, George Benton would not be able to devise a way for Leon to be competitive. Even if he had a game plan of hitting and running, ala Tommy Morrison v. Old George, Leon would likely not be able to follow the plan, at least not for long. Leon was simply made to order for prime George Foreman.
I just don't see it. I can't c Michael doing anything with a young George. Michael doesn't have the craftyness and slickness of Jimmy.
Maybe m spinks could do that to the 77 version of Foreman .I see the 74 version still good enough stop Michael after a number of rounds been out pointed .
