Leon Spinks who beat Ali vs Frank Bruno who beat mccall

In general I'd pick Bruno over Spinks, due to his stiff accurate jab and size. Spinks would have to stick and move well till about the 6th to have a chance.

 

If Spinks can avoid getting stopped by Frank, and keeps up that ridiculous pace, then yes we may see Leon KOing him in the latter round s.

 

Bruno was only ever stopped by huge guys like Spoon, Smith, Lewis and Tyson though. Frank would be some 30lbs heavier and wouldn't have to go looking for Leon's chin.

 

This here. Either man could get stopped, but I choose Leon to be the victor over Bruno (slightly) cuz he proved he could survive, Bruno only did that on one occasion.

 

Strue, but I'm going on Franklin gassing and Leon all over him. That weight could work against Bruno.

 

Leon edges this by the narrowest of margins. Bruno could win, but for some reason, I don't think he totally submerges Leon's aggression.

 

Cannot understand why Bruno is flagged up so much, he was a poor champion, lacked any subtle skills, when hit hard collapses in a heap, no ring craft what so ever, lucky ( sort of ) to beat a uninspired Mcall, please leave Bruno out of any " who he beats " he is not worthy, rates alongside, Carnera, Willard, etc. Enough........

 

Bruno was just too slow.

 

Bruno by knock out, Bruno wasn't that good but geez neither was Leon.

 

Spinks has a chance. He did after all beat a large and hard hitting man in Marcado. But I don’t know if I’d favor him. Bruno had a good jab, great power, a lot of heart and was in stellar shape

 

Bruno's just too damn stiff. Leon wouldn't give him time to loosen up, and Bruno never fought anyone with a work-rate like Leon's. Bruno just wouldn't be able to handle all the pressure. He lost to Tyson, Spoon, Lewis, and Smith, but none of them had the work rate that Leon had. Also, Bruno proved only once he could win a war. Leon won at least a good handful of those types of fights. I really do think this is one of the best big punchers that Leon is capable of beating.

 

That is another way of saying, that the very few world class men that he actually fought, happened to be big men!

Bruno was very beatable, and I would pick Tommy Loughran over him in a heartbeat!

I don't know. Bruno was a lot bigger and harder hitting and had good fundamental skills. He did manage to out box Lennox Lewis and it was only Lewis power which bailed him out. L. Spinks doesn't have such power.
