    Round 4

Olubamiwo rests his head on Sexton's left arm and has it corked around his throat in a long clinch. This is getting very sloppy. They grab each other and wrestle around the ring while trying to gain the upper hand in a show of pure strength. No punches being thrown. Ooh, there was a head clash. Cut on Sexton. Looked at briefly. Back to business. Immediate clinch, arms interlocked and twisted up painfully. Olubamiwo tries to peck the body with jabs and there is another head clash as he comes up. Sexton's face is extremely bloody. He goes to his corner again for a moment. Time in, again. A minute left in the round. Olubamiwo bulls into Sexton and headbutts him in the chest as Sexton flaps at him with either hand winging in from the sides. More combos by Sexton as Olubamiwo dives in and out, lobbing big right hands and coming nowhere close. Jabs and crosses now by Olubamiwo coming forward, with Sexton dancing back behind his guard and making him miss.

    39-37 Sexton

Horrible cut. 40-36 Sexton I could go with 39-37 too.

    Round 5

Long jab by Olubamiwo. Sexton gets his hands up, slapping and deflecting as he skips back toward the ropes and makes Olubamiwo continually miss. A few 1-2 blasts from Sexton, mostly coming off the ropes so as not to get stuck there. Olubamiwo shoulders into him and then tries to slap the body when they collide. Sexton keeps his arms pinned up in front of his face and tolerates the body blows. Chopping combo up top by Sexton, missing. Big wide looping right by Olubamiwo, now head hunting but getting checked by Sexton's left arm. They stand at mid range and each paw with their jab. Interrupted. Sexton's cut being checked on once more. They keep toweling the blood away and more keeps taking its place. There is no clotting going on here. The referee consults with the physician and/or timekeeper at ringside, and meanwhile there is a meeting of the minds in the middle of the ring as Sexton and Olubamiwo have a summit and speak to each other face to face. The official needs to restore order.

Oh, nevermind. The fight is being stopped. Olubamiwo and Sexton were probably exchanging pleasantries of sportsmanship.

(I don't have audio and so can't keep clear track of what's happening; bear with me)

I would have to think this is a technical decision going to the cards after 4 complete rounds, and not a cuts TKO win for Olubamiwo.

BoxNation isn't helping out with their graphics by spelling it out, and I can't hear what the commentators or ring announcer are saying.

Sam Sexton wins a technical referee's decision, 49-48. (two rounds to 1 plus 1 even)

"Solid" Leon Williams looks just that.

McPhilben isn't unfit either, just not as imposing.

    Round 1

Straight away McPhilben starts flurrying, and Williams starts ducking in against him and holding. The ref is already having to peel them apart after a minute of McPhilben flurrying his way into being swallowed up by the void. OOH, nice uppercut by McPhilben punctuating a combination of rather wide and telegraphed hooking shots. Williams took it well enough. Now they're clinching and spinning around the middle of the ring as the ref runs around them looking for a place to interject. OH ****!! BIG STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND KNOCKDOWN BY WILLIAMS! Bang on the eye socket. Just like that, in an ugly round he'd been losing. McPhilben pushes himself up off his hands and knees and seems alright. McPhilben is back to wide flurrying and Williams is back to cloying to him rather than trying to finish. Stiff jab by Williams near the bell.

    10-8 Williams

    Round 2

Williams ducks low under the opening McPhilben flurry. A few side-clapping body shots from Williams, before McPhilben leans on him and muscles him into the ropes until they're broken up. More leaning and rough stuff, shoving and elbows but little real clean infighting. Jab by Williams. A quick swooping duck inside by Williams and he throws a hook on the rise-up as McPhilben hacks back, but neither lands. Another clinch and spin. Broken up. Clubbing, glancing right hand by Williams. Jab by McPhilben while backing up. Another playful little jab, circling left. Now back to those wide hooking combos. Wild overhand right by Williams. Both missing. Clinch. Split. Jab by Williams, holding it extended in McPhilben's face as the challenger tries to wind up a few right uppercuts. They don't traverse the distance past that outheld left arm. Williams steps off and blocks at range, letting McPhilben come to him and only intermittently squatting down to jab at the body.

    20-17 Williams

Actually on the replay, McPhilben did connect with a couple of uppercuts that round. Not enough, though.
