Benitez gave a good account of himself by sticking to the attempted task for sure.

I too was shocked at how good Ray was defensively. His defense was brilliant.

Benitez would have always beaten Duran at any weight just because of his style. Watch how he completely takes away Durans right hand. Thats not changing from 140 to 154. Without that weapon Duran was beating Benitez.

It most certainly changes from 140-154. Drastically so.

I'm certainly not as sure as i was at 147 that's for sure. I'd still be open to fluctuation. I definitely wouldn't favor Benitez at 140.

A foolish, novicelike statement. Explains a lot.

I dont think so. Benitez did the same thing to Cervantes at 140 and Duran wanted no part him. A guy like Duran was exactly what Benitez loved. Leonard was an entirely different proposition and problem to solve.

Nobody loved to fight someone like Duran. C’mon now. Cervantes was not similar to him in any way. Not in style or class. He was, in fact, a completely different proposition and problem to solve. He was exactly the kind of straight up and down, basic stylist that Benitez did thrive against. There was nothing basic or predictable about Duran by comparison.

Benitez beat Duran because he was a prime, legitimate Jr. Middle and Duran was neither. Even then, I thought it was a very good fight. Just with a clear winner.

Ohhhh no! The Duran who beat Leonard kills Wilfred. The 154 version that Benitez beat was sluggish , certainly not the version that savaged Davey Moore

Benitez made him look sluggish. I'd bet any amount of money Benitez would school the so called version that beat Moore. Moore was chicken feed comparatively.

It is amazing how fast Duran goes from super human , to "sluggish" , "lackadaisical training"
" Partying to much" etc depending on whom he was fighting. . It's as if the opponent he faced had nothing to do with his losing.
