Halfway through sugar ray leonards new book, really good.

    After beating dave boy green

''little did i know that as i approched the dressing room, another man had gone down, and it was angelo dundee.30 years later, the details remain sketchy, but this is much clear the blow was delivered by my longtime trainer from palmer park,Pepe Correa.

Pepe claims he walking away from the ring when angelo told him to get out the way and used the N word.Pepe, younger and in better shape than angelo popped him with a left hook.He was out.Fortunately he regained consciousness before too long. When i heard the news i got worried one of angelos friends might try to seek revenge.
''Angie, dont let anything happen to him'' i pleaded

Pepe told me that someone suggested to get out of town, instead he contacted a friend in the mob and the matter was resolved.''

    ANOTHER STORY

With my consent ,Mike rewrote angelos contract to pay him 15 percent of each purse, with a cap of $75,000 for a non title bout and $150,000 for a championship bout. The days of 7 figure pay days were coming soon and the last thing he wanted to see was angelo make a fortune when he did not,in mike's opinion, fullfill his duties.
In the hearns fight for instance ,he would have received $1.8 million of my $12 million take instead of $150,000.
On the day before the bout, angelo refused to leave his hotel room after it had been reported on tv that hearns trainer and manager,Emmanuel Steward was taking home a much larger percentage of his fighters earnings

Angelo complained in his book he wished i had stood up for him in the contract dispute with mike. With all due respect,he is totally off base.I stood up for him plenty, which made mike tread much more carefully,as he knew i admired angelo and would never accept his dismissal.Working for me from my debut through to hagler ten years later afforded angelo the chance to stay in the spotlight long after his first meal ticket,Ali retired made a ton of money. The truth is he has no one to blame but himself. He failed to do what he was hired to do.In this corrupt business i had to pick 1 person to trust that was Mike Trainer he never let me down.

''After i **** him i will **** you'' Roberto Durans words to rays wife at the press conferance for the 1st fight.:lol::lol::lol:

That's weird. I was going to wait and see what everybody else said first...then nobody said anything. Hmm.

    :D:yep

Mirena was a bad man in d bad sense of d word .

almost 4got that there is a bad sense 2 it .

I never dismissed a fighter nor even remotely dismissed his fighting legacy due 2 his crimes outside d ring , but here it seems that criminals get praised due 2 their crimes inside d ring . Crimes which had a most decisive effect on their biggest fights' outcomes .

"Ali is The Greatest Of All Time"
    ""Dundee" is d gr8est trainer"
    "Pryor was a beast"

Luis Resto and Panama Lewis deserve a mention .

must be a load of ang dundee fans on here:huh

So what about the $1.5million he would have earned for the hearns fight:patsch unbelievable amount for a trainer, theres no doubt he was a great trainer and leonard says himself in the book dundees words ''ur blowing it son,ur blowing it'' those words gave him the motivation to win,but cmon

No wonder they let clay fight on

    Angelo Dundee was mobbed-up.
    Old school.

Can't blame Pepe Corea for hitting him there.
