exactly. he knows it wasn't a legit win. he knows he didn't face the best duran. he thought he would get glory for it. cosell spinned it for him while it happened...but ppl capable of thinking for themselves see through the bull****.

leonard, his brother, dundee and mike trainer have all said their plan was to catch duran off guard and not give him enough time to get ready for the fight. they knew they couldn't beat a well prepared duran. when all things were equal...duran won.

bull****. his story has never changed as someone else has already mentioned. he got his redemption when he went on to win the 154 and 160lb titles legitimately.

duran is by far the greater fighter between the two. period.

leonard is the guy who started all that stipulation bull**** and laid the blueprint for these guys nowadays to try and win fights during negotiations instead of in the ring. not admirable at all.

the major difference between floyd and duran....floyd is self managed and would never sabotage his own efforts. duran was managed by carlos eleta...a man that duran used to steal mangos from his yard when he was a kid. duran was a street kid with no education. floyd was schooled by his pops and uncle both who were world class fighters who understood the ins and outs of boxing. duran trusted his manager and believed what he said to be true. he asked to have the fight postponed. it's all in his biography...and that's the side of the story that doesn't get told.

also...have u ever had to lose 10lbs over night? it's not an easy thing to do and there are several consequences to doing so. ppl die in the ring from dehydration. they knew duran was not ready. that was their strategy from the beginning.

leonard has deep ties with the network. the contender was on espn and leonard was a big part of that. u can't tell me this wasn't made for him. everything about it was his perspective and not duran's. sad thing about it...even in trying to spin the ****, the truth is still there for all to hear. they paid 10mil for duran to quit.

More delusional and irrational Duran fans. If srl had fought Duran like he did in the rematch for the first fight he would've made Duran quit then. Duran never dealt good with movement and srl made Duran quit. No mas deal with it.

Copied and Pasted but I agree with this:

This was a Documentary about Suger Ray still being pissed.. Roberto seemed happy and pretty genuine while Sugar seems like he hasn't Moved on with his life.. the part at the end with sugar ray making himself look like the better man of the two I found Absolutely disgusting.. Duran looked bored standing in the ring with sugar, while Sugar lectured Duran about his trials and tribulations..Sugar Ray still seems Bitter for not getting credit these years....Duran beat a 100% Sugar while Sugar didnt..

SRL would have beat him regardless but it would have been a much tougher fight.

check 1:18 of this video. ray's own words.

    check 20:50 for better understanding.

check 24:18 duran's manager admits...he wasn't physically fit to compete.

check 31:35 to understand why leonard did not give duran the rematch for almost 10yrs.

At the end of the day this is a valid point, and having watched the video it seems to me that Duran couldn't have cared less whether it was made or not. In fact he probably would have preferred it not.

I'm interested in the movie about this, should be good.

All Sugar wanted was Duran to admit that he quit because Sugar frustrated him, beat him,and to this day Duran still making excuses like his fan... Fans like this gotta stop making excuses for their guy and accept it for what it is.

Duran pummeled leonard in the first fight. it wasn't even that close. the only thing that made it close was that leonard was the "Golden Boy" - nearly ALL US Sports writers had leonard destroying him.

Duran controlled the fight. a number of rounds were close, but Duran won them.
