Thinking man's sport? Well you show me the MIT engineer that is an elite level boxer and then I will believe you. :patsch

Boxing is a sport. It requires a mix of athleticism, skill, physical gifts, and heart. PEDs won't make you good at ANYTHING. However if you are good it can give you an edge.

Pacman is not cutting weight for this fight. He has to eat a ton of food in order to even make 147 so were told.

Since he is not cutting weight, taking the blood test should not effect him the same way it has effected him when he fought Morales.

Also since PBF is the one cutting weight wouldn't he be the one who was more "weakend" by the blood test?

Wait, I could be mistaken, but wasn't Shane Roiding at 135 also? When the Balco company admitted what athletes they were in business with when they showed that list, Didn't Shane's name come up in that list from years before 2003?

Just what I wanted to hear:D. Who has gotten this "edge" you speak of? Anyone can box as long as they're devoted to the greatest sport(boxing)and have KNOWLEDGE of what they're doing. Brains over brawns buddy:good.

Remember when Roy Jones used to dominate with his freakish athleticism? Boxing is also an athletic sport, and if you can improve your stamina, speed, power, strength, etc. it can only improve your chances of winning a fight. Why do you think these mother****ers even bother to work out? Just to make weight?

If skill/brains is the deciding factor 100% of the time, then why in the hell would anybody want to see Mayweather/Pacquiao? Clearly Floyd is more skilled.

Whatever. Anyone can box, but not anyone can be a fighter. Stay at a boxing gym all you want and some bad ass off of the street can surpass you in a week if he "has it". You got it or you don't. Nobody is going to make you into an elite fighter. You are born with the chin. The reaction time. The burning desire to win.

At the level Manny and FMJ are at both men are masters of their craft. They can box or brawl equally. They have places they like to be at for their temperament though. The PEDs come in to play to keep them at "peak" performance while executing their desired plan.

Brains has little to do with it. Mental discipline, muscle memory, and physical gifts are far more useful.

You still have to think in any sport you do or you might f### up. Why do you think there are strategies? Fighters think while they fight and usually the ones that don't get knocked out. Good fighters can think about what they're doing and fight that's what makes them good. Like when Bradley switched up what he was doing when he fought Peterson. He THOUGHT and he WON.

There is a thinking aspect, but it is by no means the majority of the sport. Athletes win. Smarter athletes win more often. Smart non-athletic men never win.

I think you are romanticizing boxing.

Agreed. For the record I think skill/smarts are the most important ingredients, but athleticism definitely factors in, and if you can get an edge in that department it will only help you.

I have to agree with that. Sorry I romanticize about defense but I also realize you have to have a good amount of offense to win because you have to hit your opponent. A fighter's style really determines whether they think or not. Mayorga or Hatton do whatever and brawl. Bradley and Floyd think and while Bradley could have better defense Floyd could have better offense.

Yes. Althoug people will tell you differently. The best tests for some things are blood. The majourity of things you can pick up in urin tests. I think the main point is that its not about which types of tests can better detect what its about the fact that the best type of testing is random testing that tests both because Urin tests and blood tests metabolically measure completely different things even if they are looking for the same things. Thus having them both in combination and making them random is by far the best way to look for PEDs.

People that don't want to deal with the fact that in combination they are most affective like to make arguements like "they can both detect most things" and what not. Don't let that mislead you.
