I questioned his post, as it wasn't clear. Had he come to the same conclusion as you, you can rest assured I'd have gone into a bit more depth than a simple query.
Same difference punchy.... Shouldnt have expected any difference from a guy with a split personality and full of youthful ignorance.
enquirer if you believe that when why did leonard wait until after viewing the mugabit fight to announce his intention to fight him. why did he not come out all of hagler's previous fights and say "i can beat him"? Look in the book This content is protected and tell me if I what i didnt tell you earlier about the sparring session I saw was true. I saw what Marantz mentioned as "Hagler was outboxed" by the triplets. THe weaver triplets were not all time greats and totally embarrassed hagler.
Man, that was huge news and unbelievable to anyone that had $$ on Hagler. He was known to be very rough on sparring partners and when that news started coming out about those Weaver's & Hagler, it was distressing to say the least.
And you're showing your age you moany old git. You've probably got more knowledge in the three hairs on your head than I have in my whole body, but I have something called logic that is irreplaceable and much more relevant :good
For one whose moaning? Two,im probably only about fifteen years older than you,so no old fogey. And three, logic? Ive seen little evidence of you using logic (which at least sweet pea tries to do.) ,i just see opinionated man crushes and tantrums.....
You're the second person to talk about my tantrums. My posts must come across all wrong. You haven't read enough of my posts if you don't think I use logic. I'm one of the most reasonable posters here. Now that I come to think of it, I'm pretty much the perfect human being.
Hagler would have knocked out Leonard in 6 rounds in 1985.. That is why people thought Hagler would win in 1987, they thought the same Hagler that fought Hearns would show up, but by that time it was 2 years later and only one fight a year after Hearns. For Hearns, Hagler was active and sharp. And the only reason Leonard lasts to 6 is because unlike Hearns, he would try and box and would avoid punches until round 6.
Ive always felt that the only man that had the ability, mental toughness, ring smarts, speed & boxing skills to beat that 85 version of Hagler was Ray Leonard. If SRL had not retired, he would have AT LEAST been a solid 154 lber enabling him to step up to 160 even easier than he took to the new weight in 87. Its possible that Leonard might have already got his foot in the door at MWT by 1985 when you consider he KOd Kalule for a world title in 81 at 154 before dropping back down to 147 to hand Hearns his 1st loss as a pro, in either case, I dont think Marvins size & aggression could overcome all the other things in Leonards favour. People point out the fact that Hagler of 85 looked faster & sharper than in 87 - I dont dispute this - but it works both ways... can you imagine Ray Leonard with no ring rust whatsoever in his prime yrs (28 yrs old in 1985) vs Hagler of 87 - a cakewalk, UD for Leonard. 1987 DID tell us a lot whether some like it or not... it told us Ray could outbox, out-think & when necessary stand with Marvin until he gets that distance between them to play the outside game again. Leonard was the better boxer & it would show at any time in their careers IMO. Botswana :smoke
