Both were fair-ish draws. I guess, as much as it pains me to say it, the Leonard/Hearns rematch was closer, as any fair minded sound boxing fan could only score the bout either 113/112 Hearns or 112/112, depending on what you feel is needed to have a 10-8 no knockdown round in ten point must. I went to Benn/EubankII, and from the nose bleed seats of Old Trafford I had Benn winning by a mile (9/3 I think). But watching on TV later I scored it 114/114.
They were abou equally unfair. Hearns won by at least 3 pts, and Benn also won clearly even though I don't remember what score I had.
I gave Hearns a narrow verdict in his rematch with Sugar Ray - Courtesy of the two knockdowns. I still can't quite make up my mind about Benn and Eubank. I have a slight leaning towards Nigel.
As a die-hard Sugar Ray Leonard fan I'll admit to a man that I would've given Tommy Hearns the nod by no more than two points in their rematch, even though on my unofficial scorecard I had the fight a draw at 114-114. I don't overlook Hearn's two knockdowns against Leonard but I certainly can't forget how Ray was closing the show in the last and final round of that sequel making me wish that it was a schedueled 15-round fight instead of 12. And as far as the Nigel Benn-Chris Eubanks rematch. I actually had Benn winning a close one by two points and pulling for him to get revenge against a guy who I thought was more arrogant than he was.
Although benn/Eubank II was close I felt benn won and the hearns/leonard rematch although close I feel out of the two that was the clearer dodgy decision of the two
The Leonard-Hearns draw was worse. Only hardcore fans of Leonard's can find more than 6 rounds to give him in that fight. I had Hearns winning by 3 points.
Then you did not score it correctly. I loathe Leonard and always have had a soft spot for Tommy, but that fight should be used to start training all judges, as it easy to see who won each round. But it also shows some of the flaws in ten point must. People think Tommy was robbed because Hearns dominated the rounds he won, and but for two exceptions Ray won but did not dominate the rounds he won. The fight comes down to how you score the two dominate Ray rounds: If you score them both 10/8 the score would be 112/112; if not you either have Tommy winning 113/112 or 114/112, any scenario shows the fight was close on the cards.
