Edit : Might be reading too much into it but maybe that reference to hens is his way of letting us know he's that Rooster poster who had a pathological hatred of Leonard and hasn't been seen on the forums in a while ???

No problem with that whatsoever, John.

They're pretty close. I personally go for Marvin's quantity and longevity but, in terms of quality wins, it's hard to pick against Ray.

    Marvin>Ray, Ray>Marvin. Potatoes, potartoes.

Yeah & he means every word NOT!! He knows that Marvelous Marvin won that fight. He also knows it should. have been Donald Curry facing Marvin. But Leonard stabbed Don in the back when he was supposed to be his advisor & negociated the fight for himself. You notice he very rarely visits Texas these days

Reasonable points although I would take issue with your insinuation that you have to have laced up the gloves to be an expert.
Look at some of the expert predictions made by former fighters in the Ali-Foreman thread. Real life experience didn't stop them getting their prefight predictions a country mile out.

Understandable. But could it be Hagler was a victim of his own success?
Think about this a minute, Leonard was given a crushing diagnosis with a detached retina. He retires ( Rightfully for that time period) and is living the Cocaine and alcohol lifestyle a couple yrs.
He comes back, gets put on his ass by Kevin Who, I mean Howard, though he eventually wins the fight he looked sloppy, and not confident. Retires again.
Meanwhile Hagler is "Destruct and Destroying " every sacrificeal lamb placed in front of him.
A few Yrs later Leonard gets this "brilliant " ( suicidal) Idea to fight Hagler.
Everyone, I mean EVERYONE not only thought he'd lose, some ( Including me) thought he could get seriously injured.
He somehow fights not only competitively, but wins in some eyes. ( I thought he won, but wouldn't have been upset at all if Hagler won, it was that close. )
The media created the atmosphere of Haglers invincibility prior to the fight, and all but guaranteed he'd destroy Leonard.
You don't think with all this information judges seeing this media blitz month's before the fight wouldn't be affected by it and lean to Leonard simply because he survived?
    Sure it did.
I disagree with your Leonard ran all night opinion. Their were plenty of times Leonard set his feet and blasted Hagler with every thing he had. He simply couldn't hurt him
Which if Hearns, Sibson, Mugabi, Briscoe and a number of other hard punching Middleweights couldn't hurt him, Leonard sure in the hell wasnt going to do it.
The difference was Leonard had the ability to adjust, a sign of his greatness in itself.

not sure what you are trying to communicate here, or if it is just not worded the way you intended. But I doubt highly any professional boxer who puts health and sometimes life on the line is cowardly. Certainly no ATG including those you listed. Much respect from me to all of the gladiators that make boxing the greatest sport ever! It’s generally not a business for the cowardly.

Cowards are people who sit on their coaches and call professional boxers who are courageous enough to step into the ring cowards.

LOVE THIS! Any man that steps into a boxing ring in front of 10 people or 10 million is NOT a coward. Just getting into that ring with the thought in the back of one's mind I can possibly get embarrassed, hurt , or worse is bravery in itself, no matter the caliber of the opposition.
There's are different levels of will power of course, and fighters that take the easier way by avoiding the best competition available. But if they've stepped into a boxing ring in a competitive situation be it sparring or a World title fight is far from a coward.

Look at Duran! He isn't in the same shape as Montreal, just use your eyes, you sound like a Leonard fan boy otherwise.
Duran UD the only time they were both in shape and ready to fight!
Duran spanked him as well, should have been wide UD, hurt him nearly every round and Leonard the great welter could barely lay a clean glove on little Duran.

That’s kind of funny. Who’s fault is it if Duran wasn’t in shape? That’s somehow Leonard’s?

And I’ll tell you this: the Duran who boxed Marvin Hagler’s ears off for 10-12 rounds before fading against a much bigger man isn’t in the same shape as he was in Montreal.

    Just look at the pictures.

Ranking the fab 4 in terms of achievement
    Duran
    Leonard
    Hagler
    Hearns

    In order of respect deserved

    Duran Hagler Hearns

    Leonard
I already said on this forum it's Duran and handlers fault. Point still stands, when both in shape, Duran battered the bigger guy in Leonard. Duran the greatest and Leonard fans don't like it, it's nothing new.
Duran did not box Hagler's ears off either.

For as long as I can remember, Leonard has so often appeared egocentric in his public appearances and press interviews. A self-publicist, who cultivated an outwardly polished image, could look, to some people, a little forced and fake at times.

But I do not believe that interview was one of those times.
