First post on the forum, tend to lurk a bit.

Anyhow, got into a debate, who would win between Leonard v Mayweather - in terms of weight, we'll go for Welterweight.

Sorry if this has been debated before. would just like to hear what people think.

For me, for what it is worth, I think Leonard would win. Bit of a chess match, but I think Leonard would have the ring smarts and would force Mayweather to engage in a fighter who is at least his equal.

Leonard wins of course. He's simply too good and too big for Floyd. Floyd's highest weight was 154 while Leonard has a (bs) lightheavyweight title

leaonrd wins close. chess match. prime mayweather (gatti or coralles bout) was no joke, technicly, defensivly arguably 1 ever. sugar better in terms of speed and got more power. in terms of movemant and footwork both are equal.

not really a fair debate when people try to compare Floyd to SRL or Hearns head to head. If you wanna compare them then do it in a P4P sense. WW is Floyd's 4th division and he's a very small WW while it is SRL & Hearn's 1st division and they were huge WW's. Therefore they should be compared in a P4P sense with them at WW and Floyd at SFW

Faster, bigger, stronger, better athlete. Leonard tended to have a more aggressive approach against technicians like Floyd. He wouldn't box Floyd he'd go for the ko and tho flat footed SRL was fast enough to catch him. Leonard would of finished Floyd in the 3rd round where Mosley couldn't.

There is no righty in history that is stopping Floyd early. You act like Mosley landed a ton of punches. It was just one or 2 and both of them could easily be put on Floyd being totally inactive and always working off rust. If Floyd was an active fighter then no way Mosley even lands that shot

I think Leonard might struggle to knock Mayweather out as the latter is a great defensive boxer. However, I just think Leonard would outwork him, fight at a high tempo in which Mayweather isn't used too.. Also, wonder how Mayweather would handle a fighter in which he isn't dominant against. I think Leonard fought better opposition and Mayweather would be taking on someone who wasn't intimidated by him. Even as a pound for pound, I still think Leonard is better.

My mate last night reckoned Leonard would be able to land enough. I disagree, I think Leonard would find a way to win. Cute enough, smart enough but also a great boxer.

Leonard wins by default not a chance in hell that catchweather gets in the ring with SRL.

Very easy for people to assume that historic boxers would win against fighters today. I'm really not sure who would win that at 147. Floyd is probably the most skilled boxer I have seen and I've been watching boxing for a long time. Both have their own advantages... it would be close.

That was one of the fights I cited last night. I think he beat better fighters, he could box and fight.

Leonard for my hanks for the input.
