To an extent I chickened out. But the round was very close, I didn't want to give it to either fighter. Hagler was doing a lot of flurries but most of them were missing whereas every shot Leonard seemed to throw landed.

My score is practically identical to yours.....I actually gave Hagler the last round....

BTW, I just watched this fight about a week and Barry Tompkins always gives me the chills with his commentary in that fight....

"off the ropes, Leonard fighting off the ropes."
"the crowd is chanting Sugar Ray, we'll let you watch the last minute of a great evening in Las Vegas."

he always let the action dictate the programming

First of all, THX for opening up this wound...
This is the first time I have watched this fight in years.
    anyway here is my scorecard.

Round 1: 10-9 Leonard [Hagler's failed Orthodox attempt]
Round 2: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler start's his unoticed body work]
Round 3: 10-9 Leonard [Perfect Stick and move by Leonard]
Round 4: 10-9 Leonard [2 very hard low blows by Leonard]
Round 5: 9-10 Hagler [Leonard staggered by an uppercut]
Round 6: 9-10 Hagler [Leonard's feeling the body work]
Round 7: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler's jab dominates the round against the flurry's]
Round 8: 9-10 Hagler [Yet another Punch at the bell by Leonard, Foul]
Round 9: 9-10 Hagler [Nice flurry's by Leonard, but 80% blocked]
Round 10: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler has killed SRL's body the entire fight]
Round 11: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler Beating Leonard on the inside]
    Round 12: 10-9 Leonard [Leonard showboat's the round ]

    116 Hagler 112 Leonard

This fight was defo, judged on the crowd reaction.
And Leonard's backstory, also because he did not get Knocked out.
Hagler landed the harder shot's and out jabbed and beat
Leonard's body the entire fight. Clear win by Marvelous. IMO

Your whole card comes into question by awarding Hagler the second round. The first 2 rounds were clear Leonard rounds in my opinion. Hagler was landing nothing, whereas evertime Leonard let his hands go he would catch Marvin with right hands. I also had Leonard winning round 11 by landing the cleaner heavier shots in the round.

I defo see your calling my Hagler fandom into to question..lol

But honestly RD 2 IMO was a pretty even round [I hate even rounds]
The reason I went with Hagler is because he was the champion
Leonard did not do enough to warrent a take round vs. Hagler. IMO

RD 11, same thing IMO Leonard was getting away with alot of foul's the entire fight
low blows, Punching after the bell ect...
But on the inside Hagler was getting Leonard's body and hitting him with good uppercut's with the right hand. also watch them in the clinch (This stuff went unoticed)
Marvin never stopped punching, and even hit Leonard with 4-5 punche's
in a row during a sequence while being broken up by Steele.

    That's cool tho.
    Agree to Disagree.

I didn't see the bodyshots being as big of a factor as you say they are. The commentator was often calling Hagler up for not going to the body, so it wasn't a constant body attack the whole 12 rounds. Leonard was also come out on the clinch punching and catching Hagler, and you failed to mention that a lot of the inside work was partially blocked. I can see somebody scoring the fight for Hagler, but it wasn't a one sided affair.

Clancy semed to already have this fight in the bag for Leonard
from the start of round 3...
He was constantly calling Marvin "Slow", Pretty much close to calling him dumb for not fighting Southpaw from the jump.
Both Gil & Barry almost aknowledged the fact that SRL prob already had the judges won over with storyline alone, This was Hagler's fight to lose.
(It was going to be judged more on what Hagler did not do as opossed to what Leonard actually did)

End of the day tho, Hagler should have Knocked him out.
none of this **** would have ever happened.

Cool, Check for Hagler's body Work bro.
The more I see this fight the more clear it get's...lol
And Hagler defo blocked most of anything Leonard threw
aswell including his showboat's and flurry's.

anyone think Steele could have taken a point from Leonard
for low blow's and constant hitting after the bell?

Anyone think that Ray Leonard should get the credit he deserves. I do.

Hagler's body work was few and far between.

Leonard landed more shots according to me, the commentators, the judges, and compubox. Saying most of Ray's shots were blocked is a myth, if you ask me who got hit with the cleaner punches then it was Hagler all day. :good

I like your scorecard. I think hagler ate him up but i would probable give round 2 to leonard. i just think hagler started out slow but once he figured out leonard he was eating him up. Hard shots compared to slaps i'll go with the hard shots every time.
