Best stare down from the 80s has to be Larry Holmes vs Bonecrusher Smith. Smith is actually quite a nice guy outside the ring but back then he could look like one mean SOB.

If I were fighting him and he shat himself, I think I'd forfeit and leave the ring.

Benitez gave Leonard the "I ****ed your sister" look.

Hearns-Benitez was a great stare down too.

Tyson usually didn't bother with the staredown during the pre-fight instructions. He had some exceptions, like McNeeley and I think Ferguson, but usually, like in fights against Spinks, Bruno, Savarese, Holyfield, etc...he didn't get into it.

Regardless of judges scoring I cant c how anyone could give Ray the first Duran fight. Clear clean win 4 Duran

    Anyone else score Leonard-Hagler 114-114?

It was a very close fight, and I think the most evenly debated controversy ever.

Other controversial fights, everyone knows Lewis should have beaten Holyfield in MSG, Whitaker over Chavez in San Antonio, Escalera getting a gift over the Tranny Lover in Philly....I get the impression a survey of 100 Leonard-Hagler viewers would have 45 Leonard, 45 Hagler, and 10 draws.

He couldn't cut off the ring, he couldn't match Leonard's velocity, so he got outpointed. As simple as that.

I assume you are just referring to Leonard's speed?

The first major one was at the bargaining table.

head to head fab 4 Duran is way down at 4.. He lost to all of them. I think it would be for me on wins, since Hearns had better wins than Duran,, as well as my guy Pernell, but Pernell was not in the fab 4, Duran and Hearns were. Hearns had better career wins than Duran. I see it as 1. Leonard and Hearns,
    2 Hagler and 3 Duran.

Winning based on what exactly? Aggression? If that were applied to Mayweather fights he'd be losing certain controversial ones where all Mayweather did was exactly what Leonard did and his opponent did exactly what Haggler did.
