If I remember correctly, Kalue did very well in that fight, snapping Leonard's head back at some point.

One of his best wins easily. This victory pretty much proved to the world he could reign at 154. Quality victory over an undefeated champion of the weight class

He's lucky someone like Norris was around at the time. He'd probably stay down where he's at where it's safer

Nice to see Einstein in the house... Rooster ,where were you during the post about worst camps chin ??/ Your poster boy won ! Champ of the champ china chins. You lack of boxing knowledge never ceases to amaze me ! Kalule was a very well respected champ, and the inside whispers going around before SRL fought him, was a risk maybe not worth taking ... But coming from an idiot, who didn`t even know who the original Joe Wolcott was, why would anyone here be suprised that you wouldn`t know anything about Aub Kalule ??? Please, do not respond to anything outside of P4P great Terry Norris. Your lack of boxing acumen is insultive to the knowledgable fans on this
site... Who was undefeated when he fought SRL. Go back in the closet with Norris !

Didn't Kalule's manager/promoter state that he had to cut a leg from Kalule to make him make 154 ? if anything it's an overrated win which should be considered as a NC , and this time I don't mean that the decision should be changed , just that Leonard would have never got anywhere near an in shape Kalule because it would have been too much of a fight for him ..:deal

I'm off and on here at ESB.

Ayub Kalule? Gimme a break? He was stiff and slow walked straight towards you. Couldnt punch. Whereas Norris gave movement, was fast and hit hard.

    Which would YOU rather fight?

and while Leonard was good puncher it wouldnt matter with TN becuz he wouldnt be able to tag TN. TN doesnt stick around for anyone to get hit

Terry and I come from the old school - hit and don't get hit

Norris-SRL would be like Brown-Norris 1995 all over again in which TN runs away with an easy decision. How would Sugar cope with so much speed? He wouldnt

PS: Sugar could NEVER in a million years deal with TN. He didnt exactly overwhelm Bonds at his best weight in his best year.

    TN wins in a route

There are a few Kalule fights on youtube.
I must admit I'm not overly impressed.

Most of them are on this guy's (Mantemostovoi) channel :

It's certainly the least "made over", least revered of Leonard's ring triumphs. I thought it was pretty impressive.

Underrated? No.. But a damn sketchy stoppage by the ref... Kalule was decked and dazed at the end of the 9th, but he was up at the rds conclusion... Me thinks that Kalule SHOULD'VE been given a chance to regroup between rds... In a way, Kalule was denied a second chance... However, of course SRL was well ahead on the cards...
