Would have to be the most promising partnership in australia at momment still new to game lepai is making a huge name for himself And what better hands could he be in then team thornberry . personally after watching alexs last fight he will become what australia has always wanted a serious heavy weight contender internationally
Alex Leapai is a very good local heavyweight & im a huge fan of his. But i wouldnt call him a serious heavyweight contender internationally. He has a hell of a long way to go to even be considered that. He definitely needs better conditioning for a start.
You know the odd good heavy eh Kagsy? cabana has a point though - Leapai is a much better fighter under Noel - and even better when he facking listens!
what im saying is potentially and without a question leapy has the tools and thornberry the knowledge to take him as far as he wants to go. If there were any young up and comer thats THATS GOING TO MAKE IT team thornberry are the people you want to look after you . they look like they bring there fighters along nicely they dont rush them they feed them just enough to the next pay day and i think alexs is going to be a big house hold name
Alex needs to work more on his conditioning and if he did this in the right way he would become more explosive, which would benefit his style. It takes more than a good fighter and a good trainer do make any noise on the world scene, unless he has a lot of money behind him to bring in opponents he will find it is a hard slog trying to do it without relocating to were it all happens.
what **** are you on ? it takes more then a good fighter? and a good trainer?atsch Sorry to burst your bubble but without that you dont have a chance who cares the amount of money..........ohhh you must be talking about mundine or dibb to much money. so were forced to watch them win tittles and we base potential on what those guys do ...how about insted of trashing get money togeather ask sponsors and put money behind him and i bet you he still has to fight the same people to get to top. point is the kid can get to the top ask the top 5 in aussie to fight him i bet you theres not a chance. but ask those top 5 to fight middle weights with a record 20 f 20 losses and youl call them unbelievable fighters the way they beat that skinny kid.. lepi is the next big thing if he gets the wright shot
Hey Cocupyanana, I never said Leapai didnt have a bright future nor did I bag him in any way:deal What I was saying is that because we live on the other side of World on an Island away from where all the money is generated in this sport, it will be hard for him to realise his potential without substantial backing or relocating:hi:
i'll be honest & serious i'll leave heta out of this - lol,but leapai does have a big year for 2009 with a chance 2 join meehan up in the ranks & spoken 2 barry michael he's a big fan of leapai/thornberry a great h/w who ducks no 1 he says where if leapai was superfit & use his combinations, jabs plus his overhangs as on papers "Austrlia's MikeTyson" imagine how far this kid can go, by the looks of it his jaw is pretty solid. i think leapai vs botha & leapai vs morrison be great good on you thornberry. Does any 1 pick up on leapais fights when he gets angry in the ring he nods his head as if he's saying "is that all you got"? tell me is that a h/w with balls.
Australia's Tyson???? Im gobsmacked.... The bloke is decent pro but he should be putting the likes of cronje away within a few rounds before you even consider making comparisons to Iron Mike..
