i'd like to hear the thoughts of you regular posters here on les darcy. either how good you think he was, or how good, or otherwise, you think he might have been.

i'm reading the 'ballad of les darcy' off and on for past few weeks, and to be honest i dont think its one of the better boxing books i have read. maybe coming from john jarrett's book on mickey walker which was a thrill a minute would have made my next read seem lackluster. still, not saying its a bad book, and i havent read it all yet, just dipping in here and there.

anyway, always been a little fascinated with darcy, and admittedly would like to read / learn more about him....but always wondered what he could have been if he had a career in america...its an age old question though, i know.

be good to hear thoughts from here. apologies if thread has been done before.

There was a time when merely mentioning his name could get you banned in these parts.

Impressive names on his resume; more impressive than those on the resume of Joe Calzaghe, whom many on here champion as an ATG.
