Bump for a legitimately good piece of film making. This documentary was filmed over 20 years ago now and has lots of good information from some very authentic sources and I don't want it to become any more obscure than it already is. I almost cried towards the end of the video... Stuff's sad, man.

I joke around about it all the time, but this is one of the first times I've been legitimately disappointed by classics reaction to something.

Les Darcy is seemingly a legendary figure & man even forgotten in the circles he should be known in. I don't understand the near total lack of interest on such a compelling figure and fighter.

G'day Russ, mate " muchos gracias " for the Darcy stuff and you aint wrong as far as Les' life being a proper tragedy.

Sectarianism was pretty rife in Oz prior to WW2 and during WW1 there was a massive divide between the Irish descended Catholics who were generally against conscription ( especially in a European War involving Great Britain ) and the Protestant population who were very gung ho in their support of " Mother England ".

Darcy ended up becoming a political football and we all know how that usually ends.

Very much appreciated mate n it is nice to be online again.
