Its hard to underestimate Lesanr. Fedor is the greatest of all time. If Lesnar beats him, it cannot be denied, its a a huge blemish on MMA

Styles make fights, and I think Lesnar could give Fedor problems. Fedor's standup isn't very good, contrary to popular belief. It's serviceable, but he's no striker. It's his ability on the ground that makes him special, but Lesnar could take him down with ease. I'm not sure how well Fedor would fight from his back with that kind of pressure and those type of punches coming at him. Fedor is crafty, and would probably pull off an armbar. But I don't think it would be an easy fight, by any stretch.

FEDOR until proven otherwise....Maybe i'll change my tune if Barnett demolishes him.

    But right now.

I don't see anything in Lesnar's game that would cause any serious threat to fedor.

    1 - Lesnar annihilated Herring.
BUT...Big deal , Fedor did the same years before , better yet......against fedor , herring could't even lose by UD , because fedor was mauling the guy. It was so bad he and his corner decided to stop the fight.

    2 - Lesnar defeated Couture...
BUT...Surprisingly enough , the older Randy , was at times , outwrestling the big guy...and Lesnar was fatigued too. His stamina is still questionable.

3 - Lesnar won his rematch vs Mir.
Mir had a great victory against Nogueira but that was in 2008. Not 2003. Nogueira is shot. When he first arrived in the ufc ,He almost got koed by Herring too.

Also Mir's loss was not a huge surprise. I personally share's Barnett's view on this one.

You just have to watch Mir vs Ian Freeman ,
Mir vs Brandon Vera to get a better idea of how inconsistent this guy can be. Especially his fight vs Freeman. (Lesnar / Freeman = same gameplan )

At this point and the speed at which Lesnar is improving if Barnett doesn't beat Fedor I think Lesnar is the guy to beat him. He is so strong and able to control his opponent, Fedor would have his hands full with him. I just hope this fight will happen.

this fight will never happen but if it does i think lesnar will take it,fedor wont have a answer 4 him,i think fedor is almost washed up....just look at his last fight with arlovski he was getting all he could handle then hit a punch out of nowhere, lesnar vs fedor would go just like lesnar mir 2 went,i know this wont be a popular vote but there it is....i will be waiting for the hate quotes LOL

Your argument fails though....You take his latest fight against Arlovski yet that fight never went to the ground. Lesnar is no striker...What he does best is on the ground...He's got success in mma because of his wrestling not his striking.... Mir , Herring , Couture's ground game aren't even comparable to fedor's...

What makes you think that Brock would own him ? You've seen him against Herring and Couture right ? and you know how Mir can be right ? Quite inconsistant.

I guess we'll never know....But if Barnett finishes Fedor... no one will even bother asking or even care.

I see where your coming from in a way, maybe arlovski isnt the best fight to compare it to,hopefully im wrong and fedor destroys barnett i personally like fedor and i hope isnt getting washed up,and the reason i think lesnar would own fedor is cuz fedor wouldnt be able to do anything with lesnar on top of him just like mir couldnt tonight,i dont see any one out there that can match the power and wrestling ability of lesnar

The smaller and older Couture certainly did. (even though he ended up losing)....But it was by ko. (he got caught)...

Couture's fight indicates me that Lesnar's stamina is very questionable and that he's not as dominant as i had previously thought....He is pretty big and very agile though...But if a + 45 or 46 yr old Couture can have a slight advantage in the wrestling department...I see no reason to think Lesnar would own Emelianenko.

What he did to Mir , Freeman did it , So did Vera (even faster..)...his domination over herring was nothing compared to fedor's mauling session.

BUT...we can argue and say that styles make fights too..it's undeniably true. Would Lesnar's style be a problem ?

who knows..what i do know is that based on what i've seen of him recently. (the way he dominates his opponents..) , tells me little of what he's really worth against a guy who's balance and submissions are way superior to anyone in the sport... P4P the only guy i can think of who comes close is gsp. (yet even he got koed by serra)...But in terms of pure dominance and agility...he's on par imo.

Lesnar's gameplans are very predictable too. I don't see why one of the smartest fighter in the biz would fall into the trap.

But all of this , is just talk in the wind....We first have to see what will happen this august...Maybe Barnett will pull the biggest upset in mma history.
