Well if he is technically right - Overeem is the lineal heavyweight champion. How much you care about that is up to you.
Part of me actually wants Lesnar to win this. He's perfectly capable of winning, but given his well known reaction to getting punched in the face, the lay off, the surgery, the totally unknown mental state, etc, etc. He's pretty much ****ed. This is a massive opportunity for Overeem, huge exposure in the US.
Say what you will about Lesnar but after this fight no one in MMA can claim to have such a hard road for their first 8 fights, probably ever. Lesnar has a good chance in this fight. I think picking the winner is pretty much a striker/wrestler stylistic tossup but one thing I am sure of is this fight won't be close. Lesnar will take Reem down and dominate him on the mat or Reem will destroy Brock on the feet early. After the fight everyone will claim that the loser was way out of his league and "never that good" when the truth will probably be that the style makes the loser look worse than they actually are.
I think this could be a fight with lots of holding against the fence. If it does go that way i tend to think lesnar might just slowly work him over with the odd takedown thrown in. such a tough fight to call imo. theres literally dozens of possible outcomes.
Feel so bad for Lesnar. Enough with the top fights. Imagine in any other sport if you'd been out for 14 months and gone through a serious illness and you came back to challenege a top 5 anyone. Imagine Arsenal not playing for 14 months then facing Real Madrid or Murray coming back after 14 months to face Federer. Give the guy a break. He has too much balls to not sign on the dotted line. Let Brock **** up Roy Nelson in December, Reem can **** up Mir and then they can fight. Poor Brock. You kinda hope he wins because he deserves it. He'll really sign to fight anyone. Brock thinks to himself *I need to work on my striking as I got ****ed up in my last fight*. A little while later he thinks of the perfect opponent *Junior Dos Santos, NO, Alistair Overeem* How can I improve my striking? Face the best strikers in MMA!
Cain can take anyone down just about. More importantly for Reem, Brock was able to take Cain down, he just couldn't keep him there. Will Reem get up as quickly as Cain?
