And why do u av an opinion on my supposed tastes? It's not like I only comment on Oriental fighters iz it u fukkin mong?
maussa comes to mind as a belt holder. as far as linear champs, mayorga is up there. same with gene fullmer, was never impressed with him.
Agreed, I think he's being terribly undersold in this thread. While Margo was certainly a limited fighter, he doesn't come close to being a candidate for the title of "least skilled" champion IMO. Right off the top of my head, I can think of Mayorga, Jorge Castro, and Bazooka Limon, who were all much "cruder" and sloppier than he was. I'd also say fighters like Jeff Lacy, Pipino Cuevas, and John Mugabi was just as much (if not moreso) "unskilled" than Margo, although their greater one-shot power often compensated for that. Jeff Harding, Gene Hatcher, and Terron Millett also deserve consideration in this thread as well. Whoever said Antuofermo made a good pick as well. Going way back in time, there was also Babe Risko. But I suppose if I had to pick one fighter as the least skilled I can think of, it would be Art Frias, who I always thought of as just an overblown clubfighter.
