Paul Williams landed a mere 24% against Antonio "I Fight With My Face" Margarito.

Against Martinez Paul connected an over all 33%, and he had rounds where he landed over 40%.

If Sergo is so damn slick, how come he gets hit so much?

This fight pretty much comes down to whether or not....Martinez chin can hold up over 12....I don't think it will, but IF.....IF it does, his handspeed could carry the decision over 12 rounds, along with his feet...

I can not, for the life of me, understand why so many people keep acting like power is Kelly's only advantage. Kelly's best decision win was a UD over Jermain Tayor when JT was still at, or at least near, his peak. Hopkins tried to get a decision over JT, and failed twice. Winky also failed. Pavlik succeeded at a level where an all time great failed, and a future HOF inductee failed as well.

    Martinez did . . . . . . . what?

So what's the over/under on how many days after a potential Pavlik win the Ghost Whisperers do their inevitable 180 and begin big-upping Martinez as a h2h monster and glittering resume prize?

    Three? :think

Man -- you know exactly how that sort of thing works on ESB. It'll be more like 20 minutes. And of course the inevitable Pavlik/Monson and Pavlik/Haglar threads will show up within the hour.

I'll hold a steady course. If KP dominates Martinez, I still won't rate it higher than his 4th or 5th best win.

Hey -- easy now -- Old Bronco has a fight coming up soon. He's fighting for the vacant WBF middleweight title:yep

    Seriously, it goes like this:

    Taylor at 160

    Taylor at 166

    Miranda

Zuniga - Martinez. ( I rate the win over "Z" highly because it was very important at the time, and shortly there after "Z" derailed the Oganov hype train, and then AA weasled his way out of a mandatory with Zuniga.)

It's lovely to predict a natural 168-er sending a natural 154-er out on a stretcher, makes your prediction and little emotional life a bit more secure, isn't it?

VAMOS MARAVILLA! Do the unthinkable! Upset the odds!

A natural 168 pounder who has never really fought at that weight?

"Upset the odds" when the majority of ESB favours him to win?

The way I see the fight.... Martinez will have his successes early rounds, sticking in moving, with a speed advantage, catching Pavlik and turning him consistently.
Pavlik may even suffer a busted nose and eardrum, the way Martinez loops those hooks, We from the Uk know how dangerous Martinez was and knew it would be life and death in the Williams fight (well I did), but one important factor that most of people forgot, is that Pavlik is an Engine and has a beautiful one two I have watched it over and over again and the way he packs that power, in one and two combos, yes he may be slower but every punches have that Venom, I predict that Pavlik will Stop Sergio Martinez in a humdinger around rounds 11, pounding him in the corner and the ref steps in to stop the Carnage,
one other thing his that Pavlik Rehydrates and maintains his Power:hi:
