Wow!!!! You really need to stop posting. Have you never seen a Ricky Hatton fight. Look, PBF has inside fighting skills. If Hatton was on the inside with his fists in frond of him looking to punch, then maybe we would get to see some good inside fighting. However, Hatton lunges in, puts his body on your chest, grabs your arms, and looks to hit you while trying to break your arms apart. So PBF was right in pushing off with his forearm to create space, and hold and hit his ass back. You can't just let him continue to do that. You've gotta show him that you're willing and able to get punches on him durring the grapples as well.

I was going for Hatton (just like the underdog is all). Hell I was pulling for Rocky not Apollo Creed (nothing against the latter) as well - haha. Floyd is just fun to hate. I think everyone knows he is a phenom. Add to that his trash talking and of course you wanna see someone kick his ass. Everyone gives him props afterwards. But the HBO crew did look kind of depressed afterwards didn't they, almost as if the bad guy won. Still, a bigger version of Hatton likely takes that fight. Imagine Floyd moving up from 140 and Hatton coming down from 147.

Hatton's technique isn't 'deplorable.' He's a good fighter. Mayweather is just better.

No where near enough focus on body punching - He must have watched 24/7 where he saw the uppercut counter team Mayweather prepared...

Hatton's style was more effective and tougher than Judah, Bladomir or Gatti - He bought the best out in Floyd tonight. Hatton drew more fire out of PBF than DLH did.

Yes, Ray Leonard was an unpopular chap, Mike Tyson, who the hell knew anything about that guy in the 80s? Or how about that Michael Jordan guy all the kids hated...Ridiculous - Floyd is a dickhead sometimes = A genius in the ring and an athlete supreme, but he can be a wanker. People don't like that - Not his skin colour.

    Word.

His clinch and maul was never going to work in Vegas or on American soil. He was better than people gave him credit for though.

There's nothing new about the HBO cheerleading.
    Amen.

When you saw Floyd kneeling on the ring and looking like he had just run a marathon, you could tell how tough this had been for him. This was what DLH could have done had he had stamina and youth. Floyd got mauled in the ring, muscled, pushed, hit, shoved, everything. Hatton was a beast and he was all over Floyd. I haven't seen Floyd roughed up like that ever, and he took a lot of clean shots. Just watch it again, that was a rough, tough fight, especially for someone who is used to easy fights.

    Good stuff I agree.
    1. Weigh-ins, singing and chanting crowds don't win you fights.
    2. Defense, footwork and counter-punching are underestimated in boxing today.
    3. PBF isn't feather-fisted like people said he was.
    4. Oscar had a better chance of beating PBF than Hatton did.
5.Without being able to hold Hatton's boxing skills are terrible. I could beat him.
    6. 75% of people on ESB don't know boxing.
    7. PBF is a top 30 ATG.
    8. You can only get so far in boxing without a good jab.

Nothing to do with being black. It's because he's an egotistical ass. We all hated Prince Naseem too for that reason. By the way, I'm trying to think of a white fighter that was like this (an egotistical ass), but no one is coming to mind. Anyways, I'm sure if Floyd was white, chinese, peruvian, whatever, and acted the same way, everyone would still want to see him get his ass kicked. Still, can't deny his skills or legacy, but it sure would be fun to see someone shut his mouth...just once..that's all....

Hatton has the ability to make any fighter work for their win. I'll give him that. Its part and parcel of his style. f= But that doesnt mean Floyd was ever in any danger. The writing was on the wall very early. PBF had an answer for everything Hatton could do. I'd have to disagree with you about Floyd taking a lot of clean shot. Hatton hardley landed a clean punch all night. Some people (i.e. Hatton Fans ) tend to give points for making a fighter go backwards. They dont know boxing. Boxing is about landing scoring shots to the head and body. Hatton did little of this. He got outsmarted, outboxed, and beat down by a far far superior boxer. This was not a close fight.

Hatton will always get caught against an elite fighter because he has no skill. it's not down to tactics, he can only fight one way and he fought it.
