Alvarado is throwing heavy underhanded shots on the belt line. Reyes is standing his ground, tossing leather back at him but finding much of his splashing off the arms of Alvarado. Shorter and straighter punches by Alvarado finding the nose and mouth of Reyes. Wild swing and miss with a left hook in the pocket by Reyes, nearly turning himself around. Right hand lead by Alvarado. Reyes doubles a left hook up top while skipping to his left, grazing, and is countered with a straight body-head two-piece. Alvarado slips a few jabs and plugs in a left hook downstairs. Good exchange, both landing straights on the inside. Alvarado finishes the round pushing Reyes onto the backfoot.

Round 4

Alvarado is pressing in, weaving his shoulders & head around the Reyes jab and constantly pitching himself toward his opponent with his left big toe planted just inside Reyes'. Alvarado constantly on the attack, slamming down with overhand rights as he traps Reyes on the ropes. Reyes ducks in and body-checks Alvarado to buy some time and then circles out, jabbing and throwing straight flurries. Scything right on the body by Reyes. Alvarado eats a double jab, then answers with his own. Alvarado with a left hook on the body. Reyes retreats.

Tarjeta BDP gave Reyes the fourth and has it knotted again, 38-all.

 

Round 5

Alvarado is jabbing straight in, and getting met with some hooks and uppercuts. Reyes unloading and then escaping either straight back or in diagonals. Reyes timing Alvarado with uppercuts coming in. Reyes jabs the body, then head, and then places an uppercut. Alvarado lashes Reyes with some lefts on the body and walks him into the ropes. Reyes with hooks low and high. Both nailing each other just above the belt line. Reyes backing up, slipping jabs, scoring hooks on the body. Alvarado taking big gulps of air through an open mouth as his sloppiest round winds down.

Round 6

Alvarado is pushing into Reyes with his outheld left arm after jabbing, then letting rip with straight rights and uppercuts after prodding him into range. Alvarado is slipping jabs and clattering shots into the side of Reyes' head. Reyes is jabbing through the gloves and firing hard right hands, sending Alvarado's braid fluttering. Alvarado goes for body shots and winds up getting sideswept between the ropes, with Reyes drilling instinctively at the back of his head with a couple of shots but thankfully missing as the ref yells "no, no!".

Round 7

Alvarado popping some sharp jabs, seems to have recovered his wind between the 5th and now. Reyes carrying his left arm low, baiting Alvarado, tossing jabs off the hip and then sliding his legs away. Both scoring jabs in the first minute. A minor eruption of power shots initiated by Alvarado, both missing. Body jabs by Reyes. Alvarado with a left hook on the belt line and then a big swing and miss up top with a looping right. Reyes throwing light uppercuts trotting away. Alvarado is ducking and weaving under the Reyes jab. Alvarado lunging at the belly of Reyes with a right hand diving in. Reyes running. Alvarado catches him skirting the ropes with a pair of power shots downstairs.

Round 8

Alvarado is pumping away downstairs with a straight right. Now a hooking attack on either side of Reyes' waist. Reyes planting his lead foot and trying a liver hook. Both tossing head and body shots in the pocket. Alvarado with an overwhelming flurry of chopping right hands and left hooks, backs Reyes up. Alvarado briefly switches to southpaw and pokes at Reyes with a right jab. They go forehead to forehead, threshing each other with body hooks again. Alvarado pushing forward, caught with some sweeping hooks by Reyes but just as many crashing into his shoulders. Alvarado eats a jab while walking Reyes down, but then bunches his fists up over his chin and blocks the next few jabs. Reyes jumps to his left and plants a right uppercut on the underside of Alvarado's jaw. Wild hooks missed by both. Alvarado ducks and comes up swinging. Body shots by Alvarado. Right hand by Alvarado. Reyes backed into the ropes.

BDP gave it to Reyes and now has it a draw, 76-76.

 

Round 9

Alvarado is pump-faking with his right hand, as though cocking a pistol, then firing left jabs or hooks on the body to start off combinations. Reyes is in full retreat. Alvarado is loading up on right hands up top, sailing them past the sloping left shoulder of Reyes. Counter jabs off the hip by the Argentinian, who is using every inch of the ring. Hard body combo by Alvarado, getting a rise from the crowd. Reyes jabs and runs. Alvarado is stalking, pawing the air with jabs from a crouch. Alvarado stuffs a hard jab into Reyes' mouth suddenly dashing in. Body combo by Alvarado has Reyes hurt and then sprinting from the corner.
