Watching the Ali-Frazier trilogy on ESPN, I wish I had nominated Round 3 from the Thrilla in Manila. I don’t think it would have won but helluva round.
I'm not sure either; of the 'stand out' rounds in my opinion it was the 'least' but it was still a DAMN GOOD round.
Pat, I have a couple of more for you. Round 12: Frank Fletcher v Clint Jackson Rounds 13 & 15: Buster Drayton v Matthew Hilton
And Round 7 voting is completed. Our winner; Roberto Duran-Iran Barkley!! https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/greatest-round-7-of-all-time-please-vote.650278/#post-20489599 I don’t think I’ll get to Round 8 until tommorow evening.
Voting underway for Round 8 as I found time to put the thread together: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/greatest-round-8-of-all-time-please-vote.650436/
Pat, just realised that you didn't include my nominations for Corrales-Castillo for rounds 6 and 8 - too late now obviously. But do you think you could add it to round 9?
Sorry I missed those. I’ll add Round 9 ... but I do wonder how many fights people think had three or more rounds that are really the greatest Round No. X of all time.
Well, I think round 6 could have been a genuine contender in that vote. Round 8 probably wouldn't have been able to make a dent in Saad-Lopez 2, but I think round 9 is wide open and has loads of top quality rounds - if people actually watch them all and don't just default to Gatti-Ward 1....
