Hagler wasn't prime against Hearns or Mugabi. Those fights occurred when he was already in his 30's.

He was supposed to take on Hearns back in 1982, closer to Haglers' actual prime, but Hearns suffered an injury and the fight was cancelled altogether (finally materialized 3 years later in 85.)

His actual prime was probably between 1979-1981. And that version of Hagler would've been too much for GGG. He was a great inside fighter, had very good power in both hands, and had a granite chin. I'd favor him in a UD.

I personally like GGG but there is nothing to indicate he would beat a prime MMH. Perhaps down the road he'd prove it but there aren't too many prospects to indicate that.

Hagler wins 8-4 or 7-5. He had too much fighting spirit and chin granite to be controlled the ways guys these days are, and his handspeed and quickness would likely surprise GGG and he'd win the first couple rounds. GGG would adjust some, and box more with his jab and win some rounds but he wouldn't stop MMH or overcome the early deficit.

GGG loses a respectable fight on the cards IMO.

No way, Hagler would have eaten GGGs shots like mnms, then he would have wore his azz down and ultimately knock GGG out..

this is what golov****s do .

they want ggg to duck challenges, stay in bumland, call out welterweights,

then claim ggg beats every atg based on the geales and monroes of the world fights

Golovkin would get worn out by the old Hagler. Recall Ouma giving Golovkin work. There is no way in hell that Hagler wouldn't work Golovkin over. Golovkin has never faced a hard man like Hagler, who can take it, and also dish it out, coming forward the whole time. I could see the Golovkin getting stopped.

Duran is my second favourite fighter all time, but he wouldn't stand much chance against GGG.

Cant believe some posters think that Hagler backs Golovkin and stops him.

    Trading with Golovkin is suicide.
    Even for Hagler.
He is smaller, has less power and has no chin advantage.

He will have to use his boxing skills to win this fight.

I'm afraid not. Bumlovkin's punching power is constantly being overrated. WAY overrated. He doesn't have one punch KO power and Hagler had more than enough chin and skill to deal with Bumlovkin. Thomas Hearns carried his power all the way up to light heavyweight and he wasn't able to put a scratch on Hagler's chin.

You're fckin ret@rded. Period. GGG hasn't fought anyone for you to even make that stupid ass assumption. If anything, it would be suicide for GGG. Hagler is proven, GGG is anything but. Smfh, a gd 35 year old in boxing who's never beaten a Good fighter.it never fails, all you need is power and a train of cans to have legions of d*ck riding bobbob's to hang off your nutts.

It's an unfair question. We have all seen Hagler fight the best of the best and know he can go through war. He has been outboxed before. GGG has great skills, he is just too unproven in the pro ranks to know if he can hang with the likes of a Hagler. Ask that question again after GGG has retired.
