For 11 1/2 rds, Martinez owned and schooled Chavez. Now with the reports coming out about Martinez broken hand. Is it safe to say that given Martinez power hand was hurt, might that have been why Chavez got a shot in during the 12th ? I noticed that mid fight, Martinez let up just a bit ( while still spanking him silly),and the bad hand prevented him form really going for the KO. Chavez fought with heart guts, but he was outclassed just about the whole way. Before evreyone goes of on a rant about Chavez doing a great job... Lets take a look at what might have happened if Martinez had TWO good hands for the whole fight ...Chavez won one rd (yes by 2 points) the whole fight. He fought gallantly, never quit but really was never in it till the end ...
