We all know the feels, and we all know the feels damn sucks.
We can all watch the fight again if we want, which is what I'm going to do now, but either way, on the night I think Kellerman said it best when he said Lederman's card, all the way to the official scorecard, were all plausible scores. This is the way the chips fell. You've the right in believing Kovalev won the fight, but ultimately like De La Hoya-Whitaker, this was one of those even fights.

Those are Two totally different fights, that said Ward dictated the pace and made adjustements. Towards the latter part of the fight Ward became sharper with his offense while Kovalev was struggling to land clean. He followed Ward around the ring instead of trying to cut off the distance. That's his fault that he allowed Ward to recuperate, and didn't set traps. Ward's body work totally went unnoticed on here. But still body shots count, and Ward won a close fight by 1 single point ffs. You guys are making this out to be along the lines of Hooker-perez.

The old cliché of to be the man you got to beat the man, applies here, Ward DID NOT beat Kovalev, the decision was a gift, he didn't dictate ****, he held, wrestled and clinched, he should have had a point deducted, but of course Byrd being the s*** ref that he is, let him get away with that **** for the last 7 rounds. Ward clearly won 3 rounds, 2 others were close, and that's being generous. 115-112 is fine, 114-113 for Kovalev is a stretch but okay, no ****ing way did Ward win 7 rounds of that match, and on ALL THREE scorecards. Its ****ing shameful.

Then state the fact that Ward benefitted from generous scorecards, you got your win, but at least acknowledge it wasn't some clean schooling, especially on a match of this magnitude.

Definitely not a clean schooling, I scored it for Ward, but I gave him the close rds too, since I am biased towards Ward, just like you gave Kov the close rounds because you're biased towards him. An immediate rematch is needed forsure.

I think I already explained that in the RBR thread. This was a close fight that could have gone either way! Ward got the win, we'll see what happens in the rematch.

Byrd was a non-factor in that fight, which is all we can hope for as fans. He wasn't protecting anybody. Kov clinched, wrestled as much as Ward. Kellerman even said as much during the fight. It was a good fight all around.
