after an embarrasing beatdown, do you think it was the catchweight? no plaster of paris? the fight was fixed? I personally think marg is a hoax! nothing without his plaster of paris! cotto vs plasterito 2 on the horizon
personally i dont ever wanna watch a marg fight again...it felt good though watchin pac beat the burritos out of him....now cotto should get his revenge
No excuses!!! Margo got beat fair and square. after seeing the weigh-in, I thought there is no way Pac can stay mobile for 12 rounds. I thought Manny would get caught in the late rounds and be forced to brawl against the bigger fighter taking too many shots. Manny fought without dirty tactics, without clinching, and without running. Congrats congressman Manny.
I picked Pacquiao to win comfortably by UD and was correct........though admittedly I rooted for Margarito tonight. No excuses on my end for Margarito. I had posted yesterday that Margarito may be weight drained.....but I did'nt really see any significant sign of that today. I say Margarito was physically fine and not severely drained or he would certainly not have made the distance with the blistering shots Pacquiao was able to tag him with. Pacquiao is just a physical marvel. I dont think there's a fighter in boxing history Pacquiao's size that would have beaten Margarito in the same fashion that Pacquiao did. Whats even more astonishing to me is that Margarito actually fought the fight he was supposed to fight. He led with the jab, was actually finding Pacquiao with it, but it never detered or disruprted Pacquiao one bit from getting his shots off. How Margarito fought tonight would have debilated most opponents 154 lbs and below. Certainly imo Cotto would have succumbed tonight to the type of fight Margarito put up. Pacquiao however is a much different story. If Pacquiao is PED free (which most everyone on this board knows my stance on) I cant even begin to comprehend how Pacquiao is able to take punishment form a much bigger fighter, particularly the times Margarito hurt Pacquiao to the body, and still keep at his business at the same workrate from start to finish. How the hell does Pacquiao get hurt badly to the body, and be fine just seconds later, not missing a beat and continueing with the same pace and workrate he was at before getting hurt to the body???????:huh .....when Margarito got hurt to the body in round 4 of the fight, he needed the remainder of the round to catch his wind......mind you Margarito is one of the best conditioned fighters out there beside Pacquiao. Its not Pacquiao's boxing that has me shaking my head, its what he's able to sustain and accomplish physicallly against naturally much bigger fighters.
Anyone and everyone who even attempts to conceive the excuse for being "weight-drained" needs to have a reality check....Tony fought his last 3-4 fights at or around 147 lbs. He's a welter. Get real lol.
TS, you're an idiot. Pac did to Margarito the same thing he did to Cotto...and Clottey...and DLH! It's not Margarito in other words. Pac is just a marvelous fighter. As Divac said, Margarito fought the right fight. Pac was just better and faster. The same as with everyone he's fought since he entered welter.
Exactly Eliqueiros, there are already turds on this board posting that this is the results of Margarito without plaster......yet how can they explain that tonight, Margarito was able to land and hurt Pacquiao on different occasions throught the fight????? ......all things that DLH, Hatton, Cotto, and Clottey were not able to do. Margarito certainly lacked defensively, but offensively he did more than any welter that Pacquiao has ever faced. Put the plaster excuses behind people......Margarito who did not have plaster tonight was able to hurt Pacquiao, so certainly that crap theory should be tossed.
Dammit, what the hell is wrong with this board.....its been running super slow all day long, and I've had to literally try three of four times to get my post to register. Hell, I dont know if I can deal with the forum running this slow, I'd love to keep talking about the fight, but this is ridiculous.
To him it was worth the embarrassment since he's getting paid quite nicely. No excuses though. He was beaten by a better man. But what's so special about a small but faster guy carving up a bigger but much, much slower man? I don't find anything spectacular about Haye beating Valuev. Do you? Margo looked even slower than I thought. Floyd would've toyed with him quite easily. Nice win for Pac but nothing to get crazy about. I just hope he fights someone with respectable athletic skills next. Pac has done enough to wow the casual fans. Now let's do something for the real fight fans.
Would you agree that offensively, this slow Margarito did better than DLH, Hatton, Cotto, and CLottey????
Yes but we're talking about an improvement that's so minute and irrelevant that it's like going from an F to a D- or D. Still a bad grade no matter how you slice it. I expected Marg to win at least 2 rds. But it was a complete shut out. And his face - nobody has ever busted him up that badly; Paul Williams and Shane Mosley couldn't even come close. Kinda makes you wonder....
Excuses? margarito was never that good of a fighter. I predicted a total beat down and what do you know. A total beat down.
