    All over the internet I keep reading about how Pavlik should take a 50-50 split with Williams. First, the problem is not with the Pavlik/Williams money split. Goosen demanded a 50-50 co-promotion! That took away Pavlik's ability to negotiate. Arum wil NEVER agree to give Goosen 50% control over a show with a Top Rank world champion in the main event, and Pavlik does not have the authority to tell Arum how to run his comany.

    Peterson, Goosen, and Williams all said Pavlik would be an easy opponent. Team Pavlik and Top Rank offered Williams $1.2 million, plus a percentage of the gate, plus a percentage of the endorsments. It adds up to the biggest pay day of Paul's career. Williams just turned away from getting the biggest pay day of his career against an "easy opponent." The man let his alligator mouth write a check his humming bird ass can't cash. Now he is nowhere to be found.

    This is what i dont get. How can people make out like Williams is now ducking, when Williams tried to fight Pavilik not once but twice already?

    Williams career is not put on hold for one man. If Williams dont make the fight anytime soon i dont blame him one bit. Obviously the fans want to see it, but you u cant **** around with a guys lively hood when it suits you.

    This is correct. Williams can't put his career on hold for a staph infection which heal time had been mis-predicted by doctors twice on short notice. I actually booked time off work to make sure I saw the fight, and was bitterly disappointed that I had wasted my holiday, twice. Williams has to keep the fights coming, from a financial and legacy view. He's in the years of his prime and can't afford to be wasting them.

    This fight probably will happen some time down the line, Williams isn't going to stay at 147 when pretty much nobody there is interested in fighting him. Could even be as soon as after whoever Williams faces next and pavlik/martinez.
