USADA standard protocol for grug testing involves out of competition testing or year round testing, or off season testing. The rationale for it is because the most common drug used for performance enhancement is steroids, and basically, steroids physiologic response is very predictable that This content is protected is actually done off season while This content is protected is done during the testing period. It is easy to find about how to cycle steroids as the internet is basically littered with it. Athletes who dont want to be caught using steroids use the inverted pyramid cycling method where they start on high doses of steroids and then gradually taper until it becomes undetechable. Here is an article that I just searched in 5 minutes : "I. Always Cycle off of AS for at least 6 weeks. The This content is protected Most of us cheat at times though and do not stay off of the juice for the recommended time each time that we cycle. Sometimes a goal is trying to be met which will require a quick return to the AS in order to not lose gains. At times like this, I strongly recommend that This content is protected During these shorter rests I always use an additional herbal supplement to aggressively detoxify my system. One such detox would be the use of ESSIAC tea and Milk Thistle. Amazing things can be done in the body with these two together in just 4-6 weeks. Additionally, I use the clomid, nolvadex, and hcg therapy for 4 weeks, and then continue with Tribulus/DHEA stack of 1250mg/day for the next two weeks, along with Saw Palmetto. I have yet to have problems with my natural test after 6 weeks of such therapy and cleansing. The cleansing, however, is mostly in order to keep my liver, kidneys, spleen, etc healthy." That is just one of the many articles I read but apparently, the off-cycle should at least be 6 weeks. Assuming that that person is mistaken, his figure would still probably be close to that 6 weeks. So, basically, a steroid cheat could and would never be detected if they start testing 6 weeks before a fight.
I think it has nothing to do with the testing actually. It is more about pride. He is the champion and the P4P number 1 and does not want to be dictated upon. It is more probably like trying to ask one king to bow down to another king.
Don't count me as one who is blaming Mayweather. I believe that both parties have responsibility for the fight not ahppening, As they say it takes two to tango.
A bodybuilder wrote that, as I just looked up. Comparing what a bodybuilder does to a professional boxer is two different things. Body builders go on steroids to get bigger, etc. They gain lets say 50lbs over all. (exaggeration) 30 of it being muscle, 20 of it being fat. When they cycle off and start "ripping" they will only have really gained roughly 15-20lbs of muscle if that. Pac hasn't had huge weight gains while moving up. The only PED he could possibly be on. Would be EPO, which would need to used during training.
Fighters start to train for a fight about 8 weeks before the fight...... I would imagine a fighter would'nt reek the full benefits of steroids if he was'nt in training. So you're probably right what a weight lifter does to train for competition and what a fighter does are two totally different regimens.
You take the PEDs/Steroids during hardcore training to get the most out of it. This article is mirrored for someone doing bodybuilding, not a boxer.
I really dont think that Pac is on PED's I just think he knows its a great possibility that he will lose to mayweather and he doesnt want to step outta the lime light....but a question is how long has he been talking bout running for office in his homeland???? Was it before or after floyd came back????
Regardless whether body builder or not, it is just one of the articles. Besides professional bodybuilders use the same techniques to avoid detection. The end result might not be the same because body builders tend to emphasize muscle mass, while other athletes might emphasize lean muscle mass. Athletes basically use the inverted triangle protocol, meaning that they take huge amounts of steroids then slowly taper it as the event approaches or the testing, whichever is the one that needs detection. Considering that the off cycle should be at least 6 weeks (granting for argument that the shortest is 4 weeks), then any athlete who is only tested 6 weeks before the fight could actually escape detection. The thread is not about the technical details of how to cycle a steroids but I am sure you can easily find one, and there are so many. But the common thread is that you have to cycle steroids because of its adverse effect, as well as probably a tool to avoid detection.n Some say 6 weeks on-6 weeks off, but the shortest I read was probably 4 weeks on-off cycle. This content is protected The only thing they have in common is it is random and it uses blood testing. How they test is administered is entirely different.
It does'nt really matter to me what they call the testing, as long as the protocol in place is the best to catch a particular athlete at his particular sport...... In boxing for instance, the training regimens are so intense, you cant train that way year round and not suffer adverse effects such as fatigue or overtraining. .....Fighters must do the brunt of their training in the 6 to 8 weeks leading to the fight, and thus you would think if they were cheating, this is the time frame they'd be using whatever it is they use to help their recovery from the extreme workouts..... Jim Lampley mentioned that Pacquiao's 4 hour extreme workouts have become legendary. ......does someone think they're doing Pacquiao any favors by announcing that live on the air under the suspicioun he's under???:think
he certainly isn't gaining any bargaining chips by mayweather fighting mosley (if he wins, he gets a title, and won't be the "challenger" the second time around in negotiations) and having arum gag the PPV #s and mosley agreed to testing + if floyd wins, he will be coming off one of if not the biggest win of his career while pac had sparring session with an in house loser who refused to fight (or even punch)
Again it is a wrong assumption. Steroids are not miracle drugs that when you take it now, tomorrow you will be strong as an ox. It is still human physiology, however, accelerated. Meaning that your body has still to mobilize proteins to build muscles, etc. It's antiinflammatory effects probably but not its anabolic effects.
