When I was robbed against those guys consecutively it took away my love for the sport- I actually would allege something sinister was going on behind the scenes in the McCallister fight such is my confidence that I dominated that fight. Against Hardcastle I made the fight harder then it could have being but nearly stopped him in the first and floored him in the fifth but he took a 96-95 decision which I feel was bollocks- but there you go.

I'd be fooling myself if I thought I was ever capable of being a world beater or even a british champion. I was pretty good thats it- but I was definately capable of being an area champion which would have made me so proud.

I train now and still spar and i've still got lots of relative 'skill' and I'm still actually getting better but when I push myself too hard my Asthma becomes a real issue and I find it massively dibilitating and can barely complete a hard round on the pads.... and I train 60% nearly every day.... Its just not normal.

So yes I still miss it so much and Steve Wood and Bobby Rimmer so kindly gave me the oppertunity to come back and I rip a muscle in my chest 2 weeks before the fight when I was enjoying my first proper training camp....

I just think God doesn't really want me to be a boxer and thats one of those things i'll have to accept and move on with and tbh i'm finally coming round to that way of thinking.

I liked to work the body and started out as a pressure fighter. But i've got an ok jab and a good dig despite the low stoppage ratio i've always had enough to cause a bit of a wobble or a knockdown here and there but I could never sustain anything to force a stoppage due to my breathing problems.

The best guy I fought was probably Murray, Burns was good too but I thought i'd scraped a draw- I rattled Murray with an uppercut in third and Burns with a left hook in the third. I also boxed Steve Foster jnr in the amateurs and stopped James Lee..... Got that on tape somewhere and that was on his show.

Hardest puncher was Murray easily. I only ever got floored legit by Murray and Carl Allen... Allen was a flash knockdown but it was a cracking shot. I also got floored by a body shot by Lee Blundell in sparring and took a couple of counts vs ***an due to empty lungs but he never hurt me.

This is a clip showing me fighting but tbh this was a couple of years after the McAllister and Hardcastle fights and I was a long way past my best.

You should be proud that you always came to win, giving your best, and that you said "yes!" even when your body said "no!"

Many more talented boxers than you cannot say the same...

You haven't let yourself down; that's all that matters.

Prefer The Ring ratings myself, they seem sensible for the most part

Something a bit fishy and plain wrong about De La Fishnets buying it out though...
