Byrd is going to look great against this guy tonight. And everyone on here is going to go ape **** saying how he is now a force in the light heavyweight division.

The fact is Shaun George is being given this fight for one reason, HE WILL MAKE BYRD LOOK GOOD! He is slow for a light heavyweight and not a big puncher either.

I don't think Byrd can be a force again. He is older, not as fast as he once was, and his reactions don't appear to be good anymore.

So lets not slobber the praise to thick on Byrd after he wins tonight. Lets wait until he does it against legit opposition at 175 for that.

It's going to be interesting, watching how Byrd's timing/speed will have changed, considering he is slightly older now, and is finally at Light-Heavyweight (great news for Byrd fans).

To me, the question isn't quite whether he wins, but how he wins. Honestly, I don't remember much about Saun George, but I have seen him, and I don't remember being terribly impressed.

I wasn't surprized Byrd lost, but I was surprized Byrd lost to George. I thought he could beat him but I knew that most of the top 175s were gonna be way too fast, coordinated, and skilled for him.

Chris Byrd had a helluva career but its time to retire.

I'd still say that going down to LHW was the right move for Byrd. I mean he didn't have no future in the HW division, so he had to try something completely different. It just didn't work out. But at least he tried. He had a great career and he should retire now. The fact that he managed to come down to LHW from HW demands a lot of respect in itself.

I never really liked watching Byrd, but one has to respect him - he was competitive with the best HWs for years, guys that were much bigger and stronger than him, he always fought his heart out, took the biggest shots from Klitschko and Ibeabuchi and still got up. He beat some good HWs and even held two belts.
