When did Margarito buzz him? I don't remember him being hurt in that fight. Yeah he felt Margaritos cement punches but he never was hurt.

 

Thats what they said about James Toney, P Will is a huge guy and hes never been hurt in any of his fights. Margarito doesn't count because he probably had brass knuckles.

 

I've often wondered how they can be so certain that Ali's condition is boxing related. People that don't box get Parkinson's but we do have to admit that brain injury is a possible result of boxing. Here we have a size mismatch with the bigger guy known for doing damage to an opponent.

Pdub did get hit flush by Winky without so much as a blink so at worst his chin is decent. Perhaps it wasn't wise to post the first thing that came to mind when I saw the original premise but I just don't see how Pavlik can hit him flush and not damage him.

It could be someone who is going to get something like that anyway, has the symptoms come on earlier maybe. He and Ali we're still young when they showed signs of it.

Williams probably won't get KO'd with one punch, but if he gets hit frequently the damage is going to accumulate no matter what. No way can a career WW get hit a lot against Pavlik and survive. He's got to box 12 great rounds.

If Williams had grown into a full MW already, maybe his chin would translate to MW, from as good as it has been at WW. No way to know.

Besides the chin, which has so far looked good, I wonder how Paul can handle body shots from Pavlik? Both guys are good body punchers.

 

If Pavlik unleashes his left-hook with more frequency than in some past fights, it really improves his chances, cause then you've got to worry about walking into a big punch from either side. When he uses it, it's a huge punch.

 

If Williams had a better defense then this fight would be interesting. But that **** he pulls at 147 and 154 wont cut it with a guy like Pavlik. I know for a fact that Pavlik can take any punch he throws and with ease. I know nobody can walk through Pavlik's punches. In simplistic terms, Pavlik will walk through Williams punches and hurt him and finish him. If Williams can keep moving and dont get too brave then he could possibly win. But I just think the Winky fight is not a gauge on what the Pavlik fight will be like.
