A lot of haters are sounding off that Usyk will not be succesful at heavy because he can't take a heavyweight punch. We have already covered in other threads that Breidis has good heavyweight power and knocked out Charr, and that Usyk also took punches from the brutal Mezhidov in a pro-style fight, but let's be real here that could just target Wilder, who had no real power to speak of.

Often sold as a puncher, Wilder hits a little harder than Tyson Fury, if that. He is also clumsy, deliberate, chinny, and dumber than a bag of hammers in and out of the ring. Wilder's "power" is entirely mythical, as evidenced by Stivern 1, Molina, Duhapas, and Szpilka, all of whom have been stopped much more convincingly by others, sometimes complete cans like Ashanti Jordan and Demetrice King.

Wilder's "Power" was manufactured in a board room when somebody realized that they were trying to market a completely talentless, chinny bum who was gifted a bronze. The method was matching him against zombies (Lyakovich, Harrison) and paid divers (Scott).

Everyone knows this is the truth, which is why he has never faced a live body, and no, a 50 year old two-time PED abuser is not going to count.

Usyk will have to solve Joshua's power, but he will win every round against Wilder he cares to. Wilder is not even on Breidis' level in power, much less Mezhidov's.

Mate people on here are naive enough to think Wilder beats Ortiz, some people are crazy enough to give Usyk no chance.

If Usyk is so strong that he can easily defeat one of the HWs champions, why the hell did he spend so much time in CW.

Usyck has same size as Haye, and probably Haye was faster and, of course, had a good punch, but he could not do anything against Vladimir and it's a classic "a good big boxer will always beat a good little boxer "

He might well be able to, but it wouldn't be easy.

Usyk may well be outboxing Wilder early (after all Szpilka and Washington were doing so), however full concentration for 12 rounds is a must.

Wilder is quite wild and unpredictable, he sometimes gets excited and throws illegal hammer blows too. Usyk has plenty of experience against traditional boxers, but he would definitely have to remember to be on the lookout for the windmills of Deontay.

Uysk is a poor man's David Haye.

Therefore he won't do better than Haye at HW.

Usyk's career would literally end if he fought Wilder. He's not even the best CW either. CWs who have no power can't beat Hvws with power.

Folk may question his skills but I’ve never seen his power questioned, some of KOs have been brutal.

It won't be easy. But I feel that he can and I feel that he will.

Yeah just ask Chris Byrd! The guy who beat Tua, (Hit harder than Wilder) Holyfield and many others. The guy idiots like you ALWAYS bring up when discussing Vitali Klitschko. Or did he not “Make Vitali quit and legitimately beat him” now??

True but Wilder isn’t a good boxer.
It would not be easy for Usyk, but the difference in skills is huge enough for him to pull it of.
Hardest part would be to get Wilder in the ring to begin with.

You're throwing away your credibility with this sentence. Power is about the ONLY thing Wilder has. He's possibly the hardest hitter in boxing today. If he had actual boxing IQ and skills, he'd be monstrous. As it is, he's a KO waiting to happen. I think Ortiz lays him out.

This. I like Usyk and he is very skilled, but he has very little stopping power in his punches, which is okay at cruiserweight, but would quickly get him knocked out by any of the top heavyweights and especially Wilder.

As soon as Wilder realizes Usyk can't punch he'll start swinging for the fences until he connects and knocks Usyk out.
