People learned their lesson from Joe dismantling Hopkins over 8-9 rounds, now they are talking down roy Jones Jnr so as not to end up with egg on their face.

If Joe wins... Jones was shot, but... if Jones wins, which there is a punchers chance, you can all go beserk and use the term '' a shot Jones beat Joe..Joe was never great'' etc etc.

Roy Jones Junior is still a great fighter, he has all the ability he has always had, he doesn't have to worry about his glass jaw as Joe has brittle hands, its essentially speed v speed mind v mind... there is no excuse for Jones or Calzaghe, both are around the same age, both are in decline, but both are equal in their decline, pitting them at the same level.

So lets not hear all this nonsense talking down of Roy Jones as if hes a bum like Pavlik or Cotto, he is very much a dangerous fighter.

Don't expect the fans to look the fight from Calzaghe's perspective simply because most saw 20 fights of Roy and 2 or 3 of Calzaghe, therefore it's always the US fighter's (or who appeared more times on TV) perspective. There's nothing wrong with that, I mean you can't ask people from all over the world to follow Joe's career for 15 years back... therefore they can only judge what they can see, which is beating Lacy (overrated), Kessler (robotic), Hopkins (old, who knocked him down). Lacy is overrated BECAUSE someone who's never been on TV just came and beat the living **** out of him. Kessler is robobum BECAUSE he looked one-dimensional in the Calzaghe fight etc.

Roy is a very real threat, and people are starting to realize that age difference doesn't really matter. It was 17 years in the Pavlik-Hopkins fight, and guess what, Nard was the faster fighter. It's only 3 in the Jones-Calzaghe fight. Roy will put up a great performance and has 100x more chances to win than let's say Kelly. Styles make fights and flashy style is always bad for a flashy fighter.

But that's true for Roy as well, he'll have to deal with the fastest, busiest, most energetic fighter he's EVER fought, amateur, professional or in a video game, and that caused Hopkins serious problems.

It must be really embarrassing actually believing this stuff. Roy Jones is so far done you could stick a fork in him. If Jones beats Calzaghe, then Calzaghe has been beaten by a fighter who if not shot is very nearly there. Having said that I really and genuinely hope that Jones sticks one up the the thick sheep shagging twat, just for old times sake you understand. :good

Bigging up your fighter is one thing, but making statements like the one bolded above is just ****ing lame.

thats what happens when you face legends in there 40's, hopefully jones has one more left in him so he we can can see hopkins vs jones 2.jones is just going to either have to keep up with joes rate or at least make his punches count.

but i think joe will slap his way to a ud, they might make it a split but i think joe will win.hope jones has one more left :bbb

Thing is if joe would of fought pavlik, kelly would of been another jeff lacy and joe wouldnt get credit anyway.

If joe was born in the good old usa he wouldnt get half the **** he does now, who cares everyone really knows joe is a great fighter :happy

no matter what they say deep down they know :good

Its funny, but the anti Calzaghe people, missed the point of this thread and carried on their bemusing absurd platitudes.

Its a shame it wasn't Jones who worked Pavliks face like a speedball then fought Calzaghe, instead, Hopkins went from zero to hero, thickle fans.

i dout that, i see joe vs kessler 2 at best.kelly throws more and maybe hits harder then kessler.joe fights fire with fire, so he would not have had a easy time with kelly.kelly is no lacy, if you dont believe me watch the lacy vs taylor fight.and you will see who the tougher and better fighter is.
