    ... against Lopez, the ring doctor would have. Ortiz had a compound fracture of his jaw. The bone came through the inside of his mouth. Ortiz said, "My jaw is broken". They, the corner then stopped the fight.

    Didn't he himself quit in this one, not his corner stopping it? Either way, yeah, I'm sure the fight would have been stopped

    I think Ortiz wanted to quit, don't get me wrong. Feeling a broken bone inside your mouth would scare the hell out of anyone. I just don't think that in the time line that took place it can be said that Ortiz did the same thing in this fight as he did in the Maidana fight. It was his corner that waved off the fight. Which was the best thing to do. The bone was separated and protruding into Victor's mouth. It was a possible career ending and life threatening injury.

    danny garcia tried to get him to go back out and fight, it was ortiz himself who stopped the fight.

    What's troubling isn't that he didn't continue with his jaw a mess which he fought with for multiple rounds...it's that I seriously thought he was going to try and stop the fight and hug it out with Lopez every time he landed a good punch and after every round. Dude is a head case
