HBO signed him....is putting him on ppv against one of their cultivated stars...ward must have done something right.....curious as to why hbo and kovalev feel the need to fight him huh?

So have most recent PPV fights. Berto v Floyd, Pac v Algieri ... I don't know how Brook was selected to get a big payday considering his resume is horrible. I don't blame GGG though. He's just trying to make some cash while he still can. I hope for Brook's sake he gets KOd early rather than surviving and taking a drawn out beating.

 

It's always intriguing to see a champion from a lower weight fight a champ from a higher weight, but it usually doesn't end well for the smaller guy. History has shown that a great little man doesn't beat a great bigger man.

People always use Hagler-Leonard or Lamotta-Robinson as examples of how it's been done successfully in the past. The problem is Kell brook is no Ray leonard or RObinson, 2 of the top 10 greatest fighters in the history of the sport.

In leonard's case, he seemingly "waited" it out with Hagler until he got old. While Gennady is getting up there in age, he doesn't look like he's slowing down in the least bit. This is the kind of fight that can cut Kell's career short, if not destroy it altogether.
