Are there any excuses that you can think of?

Morales choosing the Reyes gloves in the 3rd fight further proves that he himself is convinced that gloves make a difference. What it also proved is that Morales couldn't beat Pac if Pac wears Reyes gloves - the gloves of his choice.

Bottomline fighter should wear the gloves of their choice.

In the first fight, it was conspicuously stipulated in their contract that both are to wear winning gloves. It was Morales' camp who pushed for this agreement, Pac camp agreed but that was more because Morales calls the shot at that time, him being the more popular fighter. Why would they do that??

Pac and Roach themselves said the gloves would make the difference.

In the 3rd fight, why would Morales wear the Reyes when he was wearing Winning brand in all his prev fights?

    Gloves issue....

In the 1st fight, both wore winning & Morales won.
In the 2nd fight, Pac wore Reyes, Morales wore winning & Pac won.
In the 3rd fight, Both wore Reyes & Morales did even worse than the 2 previous times were he wore winning so you can discount the glove factor unless you are so stupid that you believe that Reyes only work for Pacquiao & wouldnt benefit Morales.

    Reality issue...

1st fight - Pac`s on the way up, Morales on the way out - EM still has enough left in the tank to beat Pac but its 1 war too many & he isnt the same again.

2nd fight - Despite a bad performance at 135 v Raheem, EM agrees to go back down (big mistake) to fight Pac saying that he deserves a rematch & its unfair to ask Pac to come up to 135, result EM gasses half way thru the fight with a narrow lead & Pac takes over & in reality ends EMs career as an elite fighter.

3rd fight - Nobody gives EM a chance but the man is in denial as no fighter is willing to accept that their best days are gone, EM even agrees to try the Reyes gloves just to see if Pac is right but as we all thought, it wasnt the gloves, it was the traditional passing of the gaurd with 1 legend done & a soon to be legend taking his spot.

Ps. EM came back down to 130 for the rematch with Pac when he didnt have to but when EM asked Pac if their 3rd fight could be made at 132 as EM was really struggling to make the 130 limit, Freddie Roach says no, 130 or nothing.
Maybe if Morales had acted like such a *****, we wouldnt even be having this discussion, it would likely still be 1-0 to Morales but he`s a warrior & wouldnt let anyone in his corner speak for him.... If Pac was so confident, he should have told Roach to shut the **** up & let the fight be at 132 but he knew that to beat El Terrible you need as many advantages as possible, even the shot version.
****... even Merchant - a notorious Pac fan - kept Pacquiao in reality world by telling him that Morales wasnt the fighter he used to be in the in ring interview after their 3rd fight.

Morales is the better fighter, agree, disagree, doesnt matter to me, I know what I know & thats that.

    Cheers.

    :thumbsup

This is an absurd post. Manny did NOT come close to losing their second fight. He scored a brutal and convincing KO. Why post something like this?

A Glove is seldom an issue, it can be a big issue on how a fighter fights. I agree with CLE.

Cleto Reyes are for fighters with punching power because of its quality. Winning are for amateur quality.

Though it shouldn't really be a big issue, Pac did well on his first bout against EM. He just got really over run by EM at that time.

I think from jump the gloves were never the factor! It was all about mental warfare. To me this happens often in boxing whether it be gloves, ring size or hand wraps......a fight begins before the first bell. The Gloves of course make a difference....but at this level and this weight class...not enough to win or loose a fight.

If EM won the 2nd go round I'd be like...."EM has your number" or "PAC wasn't as good as everyone was making him out to be"...Why would I say this? Simple....you are only as good as your last preformance. This is true in boxing. You have to prove yourself otherwise.
