Since this fight got made i always had floyd by points in head for a start so I'm not some pacquiao fan die hard before anyone thinks I have an agenda But come on tonight the amount of publicity the fight got... The 'celebrities' in atendance this fight had the potential to elevate the sport .... And it jus failed miserably. Boxing fans can say "mayweather tuck him to school" but the fact is ... He didn't .. He. Clinched and pot shotted his way to a points victory and it stunk the place out... Hence the boos I watched the fight with a fellow fight fan and 4 casuals (in the UK so we had to stay up( The fellow fight fan is abit of a '*****' so he loved it and though out some casual mayweather catchphrases but everyone else in the room hated it And had absolute zero interest in a rematch That to me is why Ali will always be greater cos he gave the fans what they wanted and always deliverd in the big fights ... Floyd kept his precious zero ... But really who gives a flying fook now?? How many casuals do you think watched tonight and thought '...... You know what I might get back into boxing and watch that fight next week" And no before anyone says anything I'm not a 'jus bleed' fan and can sit back an appreciate the finer arts of the craft but mayweather tonight did what he has for the past 8 years at welterweight .... "Just enough" and not an ounce more
Mayweather often gets compared to SRR by the critics but the truth is he's so much worse. Yeah, granted, SRR danced in the ring in a few big fights, but Mayweather's done this his entire career! He had the chance to show otherwise tonght and he failed the sport of boxing. Floyd is the most overrated champion of all time.
I got a little depressed while watching the fight with some casuals. First the Wlad fight and now this. At least Lomachenko looked good.
