One punch on a f'd up eye that was created by the opponents punches.

Obviously HW's can get KO'd by one KO punch....that's not the scenario that I spelled out for you, son.

That's the problem with him having been fast-tracked to a slice of the championship. Does he have time to 'develop' to the extent he probably needs to, while defending his title against worthy challengers? It's a steep leaning curve to climb.

Whatever happens, it's going to be interesting finding out the answer to that question.

That is a problem with boxing today....guys get title shots with very few fights under their belt. Don't get time to develop. I think even Lomochenko should have been made to fight a lot more before his title fight IMO.

If you were totally honest you'd say he's found his level in fringe contenders like Duhaupas and Molina. If he was to step up again to guys like Chag, Takam, Jennings, Mansour, Browne .. I would say he'd be skirting 50-50. Top 10 guys I think he'd be the underdog.

I think that he is no where near his level as a fighter and I would love to see him fight Jennings. That's a good fight for him and I think that he would win. I haven't watched Chag, Takam, Mansour or Brown but their records are no better than Duhaupas, so how is it a step up when they are also fringe contenders.

    He will be exposed soon

They're carefully matching him but he will have to step up the level of competition soon enough

Duhuapas had a split win over Charr, that was his claim to fame aside from the Teper ud loss. He'd also lost a decision to Pianneta, who is the the only name I recognise on his resume. He's not in the same league as the guys I listed as his ranking shows.

Totally this. Almost word for word what I was going to say until I read it :)

Wilder is very good but needs work but has been in the right places at the right time and fought the right fights to get a title earlier than others who may be more deserving of one.

The fight against Duhaupas should have been a no contest... Wilder was just beating the **** out of him for half the fight. Duhaupas can just take a punch amazingly well

Takam is 34/2/1, got knocked out when he stepped up to Povetkin. Jennings is 19/1, lost to Wlad when he stepped up, although it was a decent effort. Amir Mansour is 23/1 lost to Cunningham and that was a step up. Lucas Browne is 23/0 but no notable wins. Duhaupas is 34/2 and just lost when he stepped up to Wilder. So you see, none of those guys are any better than Duhaupas.

Why is ranked so low then? Clue: his ko percentage is average and his resume is weaker than theirs. Simples.

    Seriously, are you re****ed?

Takam and Jennigns earned their high ratings with wins over Thompson and Szplika/Lyakovich/Fedosov/Perez, respectively. Duhapuas' win agaisnt Charr does not compare. Wlad is an ATG fighter and Povetkin consensus #2. Wilder is as yet unproven and doubtful. The comparion is really poor.

One observation the Frenchman was walking down Wilder the first few rounds he was hesitant to engage I think was a big mistake, main reason people are criticizing his performance. To me he did not look good but a win is a win.
