Calzaghe and Kessler can beat anybody from 160 to 175..., nobody even come close to these two guys. Im a huge Lucian Bute fans, living in montreal, and I cant see him winning more than 4 rounds against any of these two beast. Pavlik and Taylor would both get destroy, savage beating. Calzaghe is going to beat Hopkins so bad, I dont think Bhops will win a single round, maybe the first or second but that it. Wait and see :deal ! Btw, I had Pavlik 116-112, close but clear win for him.
i think that if kessler or calzaghe had to get down to 160 to fight they would struggle against both pavlik and taylor but at a higher weight id have them favorites against pretty much everyone
I agree with most of this. However, a more experienced Pavlik will be a great fight with Kessler. Pavlik needs a few more wins at 160 before moving up.
The way I see it, Calzaghe, Kessler & Dawson are the only ones who would come out on top against everyone else from 160-175.
IMO Kessler could beat almost anyone today, including Pavlik. And Calzaghe is just on another level right now.
I think Pavlik can beat Kessler, alot of posters are overrating Kessler alot lately, he's good, but that good.
It's pretty clear that the true elite/A-class fighters from 160 to 175 are Joe Calzaghe, Mikkel Kessler, and Chad Dawson. These three are absolutely phenominal. This isn't a knock on any other guys at these weight classes, but they're a cut above. Pavlik would definitely not beat Kessler or Calzaghe. Kessler has too good a jab, sense of distance, timing, accuracy, speed, and lateral movement when he uses it. He'd beat Pavlik to the punch with his jab all night, avoid the ropes, keep in in the center of the ring, and unload his accurate power shots. Calzaghe's mastery of angles, his speed, in and out movement, and ability to take away a fighter's jab and right hand (as shown in the Kessler fight) spell trouble for Pavlik. He would be seriously outclassed.
