I'm saying take Evander from his best night--let's say Bowe II--and he probably could've dried out to 200 pounds for a weigh in without a problem. Can any of us confidently say Usyk could've beaten Bowe last night?

Incidently, the three fights where he weighed in over 215 in his prime were Bowe II and the Tyson fights. I think he was heavily juiced for these.

Ok, that makes sense. And I agree that he was heavily juiced up too by then.
I was taking the cruiserweight Holy against Usyk, not the heavyweight Holy. Either way, I just can’t pick any other cruiser, or even smaller heavyweight, against Commander Vander.

I'd take Michael Spinks to beat him at cruiser. Not sure who else...possibly Tunney or a young Cassius Clay.

Evander Holyfield was always clean. Evan Fields was not.

I’m 100% certain that Marciano would beat the brakes off Evander in an all time classic fight.

Bob Foster was great in his time & would have given Usyk a hard fight.

To be clear, Holyfield would beat Usyk. Fields, would destroy him.

Don't kid youself. Bob Foster was trash when he fought anyone a pound over 175 in same day weigh-in times.

And that's a great point because that was Evander at his physical, injury-free peak.

The first time Holyfield fought a skilled southpaw, he was a comfortable favorite....and then Moorer upset him. He beat Moorer in the rematch, but the next slick southpaw he fought in Byrd, he lost.

People routinely underestimate the "first mover" advantage a good southpaw has when the orthodox guy doesn't have much experience facing them.

Moorer picked shots and sat on them. He isn't sylistically very comparable to Usyk.
