Usyk should change his nickname to "The Feel Deal."

What's his current nick BTW? Does he even have one?

If he had a nickname it should be "The Kurgan" because he totally looks like the bad guy from Highlander 1

Holyfield would have beaten usyk. Without a shadow of a doubt IMO. As good as usyk and lomachenko are...a lot of it is down to how limited boxers are nowadays as in the opponents. Like when did holyfield ever struggle to land on anyone. He hit everyone he fought because guys like hokyfield learned the game. They don't even know how to cut a ring off nowadays. Trainings all about game plans to nullify the opponent. Their not giving them the tools needed for every situation and the hungers not there. Two things holyfield had in abundance. Usyk looked like he was blowing slightly quite early as well last nite in a pretty low tempo fight in comparison to how holyfield used to fight.

Also for all the hate David Haye gets...he,d also have beaten usyk. Usyk more skilled...brilliant feet. Brilliant fighter. But gassiev isn,t exactly a prime David Haye. Haye would have got to him. His tempo was decent. His power was pretty devastating as well as his speed for a cruiserweight. Technically usyk on a different level to haye. Still think haye would have hurt him and knocked him out tho. The problem with fighting haye always was his counter punching. He controlled the fights because he made opponents scared to throw...worrying about what was coming back. Bearing in mind one counter from hate usually was always damaging. Allowed him to break guys down...getting his own shots off first. Usyk throws too many arm punches not to get caught. Haye had fast hands in his prime.

I work in healthcare and one of my biggest clients for years worked as a physician for the New York Giants. There are a number of PEDs that are easily masked and or make its physiological impact weeks before any testing would detect foul play. It’s unfortunate but it’s a reality. Everyone does it no one is completely clean at the top level.

Remember the last boxer who popped for hgh? The last athlete period whot ested positive for hgh? Right! You cant. Marc McGuire, Holyfield, Mosley etc never failed a test they got ratted out.
Because even with todays best testing HGH detection time is measured in hours not days. You can take it right before bed and by the time you wake up you have reaped the benefits but test clean.

Now use your brain and think about the implications of that.....

    Thats right.

That is true, but Byrd is a much closer comparison between the stance, movement, and volume, and Holyfield couldn't solve him, either. I know Evander was older when that fight happened, but I don't think he'd ever match up well with that style. I'd have to favor Usyk.

I do give Evander props for actively fighting good southpaws in the first place, something most of his best contemporaries really didn't do. Holy fought more world caliber southpaws than Tyson, Bowe, Lennox, Holmes, and Foreman combined.

He matches up much better with the rest as there's more straight-forward guys who prefer to mix it up, which is right in his wheelhouse. I would have loved to see Holy vs Gassiev, Breidis, and even Dorticos, too. Those would've been really fun fights.

Olympic gold. Unified CW champion. Ali trophy winner. Holds the record for quickest to win a world title at CW. None of your old timer time machine scenarios will change that.
