Let's be real: Golovkin and Gonzalez are in against opponents who have no chance

Golovkin and Gonzalez are two of the greatest fighters out there, and are always compelling to watch... but both Lemieux and Viloria have no chance against them, and as a ppv event this is bull****. Sure Lemieux can punch and will make it entertaining, but he's not on Golovkin's skill level and will take a pounding before losing without really testing GGG. There's no puncher's chance with GGG's proven chin either.

Viloria is a better boxer than Lemieux, but again there's no area where he matches Gonzalez. Viloria at his best has better speed and power than most of Gonzalez's opponents , but he doesn't have the footwork or ring intelligence to actually trouble and outland Gonzalez for more than a round or two. Worse, he's been fighting at a much lower level than Gonzalez the last couple years, and we have no reason to think he's not too faded at this point. He'll give a decent account of himself, but he'll only do well enough to make Gonzalez look good.

Both Lemieux and Gonzalez will only do well enough to be respected losers and for the show to be called an amazing success, but you should know better than to be screwed over by carefully packaged and hyped meaningless mismatches. If you buy the ppv you're a sucker and a big reason why boxing will continue to serve up mismatches.

Problem is, not many fighters in their weightclass would have much of a chance.

I actually believe they both fight guys from the top3 of the "danger" category in their weightclasses, but that still means they are massive favorites.
    They're both that good.

Both Lemieux and Viloria have devastating power w/ speed to go along with it, so both guys have more than a puncher's chance.

So you really think Lemieux is one of the 3 biggest threats for GGG at middleweight? I see Lemieux as just too one-dimensional to bring more than Canelo, Cotto, Lee, Quillin, or Lara would. For Gonzalez, I see Estrada, Ruenroeng, and especially Inoue as all with a possible chance to not just put up a better challenge than Viloria at least at this stage of his career, but give them a chance of winning.

But the point is $50 for Golovkin-Canelo + Gonzalez-Estrada 2 would be worth it, but this weekend's card belongs on HBO.

    Yes.
Lee due to his brutal right hook.
Lemmy due to his power in both hands.
Quillin because you never know how much weight he comes into the ring with.

Cotto is scared and for good reason. I can't see him make it out of the first half of the fight.
Canelo is basically a poor mans version of GGG. He's still young, so he can develop more. (I do think he's a really good fighter though!)
I can't see where Lara is much of a threat. He might spoil the night but that's it, he can never actually beat Golovkin.

For Gonzo i agree with Estrada, and not with Innoue because he's in a HIGHER division. I really rank Innoue, but he's not in the same weightclass, so that doesn't count.
Ruenroeng might be in that top 3 next to Estrada and Vilora.

I think Lemieux wins 3/5 at least of that group that you listed and that he has a chance against anybody with his kind of power. I don't see Cotto fighting David unless he can drain the life out of him.

Lemieux is tailor made for GGG, and not close to a top 3 threat at MW. He's getting ridiculously overhyped in the build up to this fight

Lemieux got knocked out by an old man and schooled by a guy Macklin KO'd in 1 round :rofl

Hilarious watching the GGG groupies trying to hype this guy

Lemieux is faster, younger, more explosive than Ggg, same thing with Viloria, only Viloria is older. Their punches most likely should land before Ggg's or Gonzalez would. Of course Ggg and Gonzalez are heavy favorites, but remember Viloria and Lemieux coming off sensational wins over good opponents.

Styles make fights. If like Lemieux you're not a boxer, you need to be durable enough to take punishment and push Golovkin back. Lemieux has proven already to not have that level of durability. He has good power but like Curtis Stevens doesn't have the skill to make it count. He doesn't even have a punchers chance
